It may not be a good Super Mario movie, but I enjoy it.
It's not good, it's great!
Yup, I love it!
Not the Morton Jankel cut though.
Haven't checked out the rough cut restoration project but the movie needs a real director's cut version. It's a classic and before its time
I watched this version a while ago and wrote a review. I really enjoyed it and I think the extra scenes actually improved the film.
Yeah I mean maybe the overall structure of the movie wasn't quite there, but the end scene with the Nintendo executives really ties it together.
I recently read up on this movie, what a shit show it was to make. Some pretty wild stuff here: https://www.theguardian.com/games/2018/mar/22/super-mario-bros-movie-killing-fields-chariots-fire-video-game
This documentary also shines some light on the film's extremely troubled production.
Nice!! Thanks for the link, I'll check it out tonight.
