Evening folks!

Curious about what everyone is having for their dinner tonight. Bonus points for mouth watering pictures of said dinner!

I've not been well for a couple days, so husband has offered to make butternut squash risotto which I am super excited for! Seems like a lot of effort while the weather is still quite warm, so I'll make sure he's well rewarded once I'm feeling better.

Acht, hope you’re feeling better soon.

On the upside - butternut risotto does sound amazing. I’ve yet to try making my own risotto, I might just give it a go now you’ve put the thought in my head though.

Enjoy!

Ta. Nothing a bit of pampering won't fix! And honestly if you can swing it I thoroughly recommend having someone else make risotto for you, but if that's not possible I suppose making it yourself would be a decent backup plan 😆

Husband may already be well on the case with this as it’s a classic combo but if not… fried sage leaves on your butternut squash risotto are an absolute delight.

Normally he would be but alas, couldn't get them today. Can confirm it was still lush though, I'm basically cured.

Can’t beat butternut squash risotto. It’s the royalty of risottos.

I have been a child today and had curly fries in the air fryer with some vegan cheese followed by some phish food ice cream 🤣

Happy Saturday!

Top tier dinner to be fair!

It was delicious, so thankful for vegan cheese to allow for cheesy deliciousness without the dairy issues.

I think im going make a homemade veggie meatball sub

[–] KumaLumaJuma 3 points 1 year ago

Ohhh this sounds good, what do you put in your ‘meat’balls?

We ordered pizza. We’ve been decorating our youngest’s bedroom all weekend so I’m absolutely knackered and neither of us wanted to cook.

She’s very happy with her new room though. I bet she still ends up in our bed tonight.

We’re going to make some simple noodles for the leftover chicken soup we had for lunch. Basically like this!

[–] sunbeam60@lemmy.one 3 points 1 year ago

Ugh. Stir fry. My wife is more disciplined than I. I would have gone for pizza.

[–] petenu 3 points 1 year ago

We had homemade pizza. I've already eaten it though, so photo opportunity has sadly passed.

Gammon, baked potato and salad. Beans for the kids.

Did myself a cottage pie with tenderstem broccoli tonight. Came out very nice!

Sounds delicious!

Singapore noodles and a pint in the pub

Luxury

I've had a few months of fairly high effort cooking, so I'm taking a week off and serving fried chicken sandwiches.

Sheesh even lunch had been banh mi or sushi from scratch, I don't know what I was thinking. The cook is on vacation!

[–] Finnbot@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I feel that!

I took over all the cooking about 2.5 years ago. As sad as it seems, I used it to ground me after a heavy coke addiction spanning a few years. And it worked!

Sometimes it does rip my knitting as I’ve 5 weans and the wife to cook for. But I generally love it, and for those times I can’t be arsed there’s always the air fryer and the weans labour to exploit!
