I have been urging to try out VRChat for ages, but I don't have a headset yet, since I'm waiting for the Deckard or a cheaper PCVR headset that is up-to-date.

How many non-VR people do you see in VRChat? I kinda fear of being left out / discriminated against because of the lack of a headset.

Don't worry about what strangers on the Internet who you will never hear from again will think about you.

it is common enough. I have a few people on my friends list that are exclusively desktop users. Plus even people with headsets will use desktop occasionally just because strapping up can be a hassle, or they're traveling.

And if you find standing up constantly strange for the avatar there is an avatar addon gogoloco that makes it possible to have different poses like sitting laying and a few more

Hmm I haven't really used a sit down option yet. Somehow I'm still more shy solely because of being a desktop user. Hmm don't you mean the optional movesets that the avatar creators have made for that specific avatar? Like the default wave and others?

EDIT: Sorry I misinterpreted your message.
