Wednesday 27th: went in blind to the Odeon's Screen Unseen and got The Creator, which I was pretty happy about as I've been looking forward to seeing it since the first trailer dropped. The film is stunningly beautiful (every frame is a painting) and haw elements that remind you of your favourite sci-fi, while still being it's own beast, but all done without overshadowing the very "human" story at the heart of it. As it was a blind screening, I was already booked in to see it today (Thursday) and I'm looking forward to round two.

Round 2 - still enjoying it. It didn't blow me away like Everything Everywhere All At Once but it is definitely a contender for my top ten of 2023.
I finally got around to seeing The Lighthouse and I still haven't quite got around to processing it.
It was intense and gripping. Great performances from both leads.
That reminds me that, somehow, I haven't seen it yet. I will rectify this. It may be that, after watching Cold Skin, my brain has decided it's seen enough lighthouse-based horror movies for now.
