Liberals really think they're going to "save" america with the very same lawfare Trump effortlessly skirted around in his civilian time.

I can't think of any realistic scenario where the dems take radical action. The only thing they'll do is try to use the courts and they'll continue to hope that "decent" republicans in DC will somehow appear in a deus ex machina and help them. A funny outcome is the dems get a surprising number of wins in court but Trump simply ignores the rulings and he doubles down on breaking the law. And then the only thing the dems will do is beg and plead in vain for bipartisanship.

Sad.

Edit

I just saw this at Bluesky. The libs will never learn.

Any four Republican Senators could stop this at any time simply by threatening to block all action (or even caucus with the Democrats) if Trump doesn't make certain concessions. They won't, but that should be a much bigger story than whether the Democrats are doing everything that they can.

I would care much more if you ignited some ACTUAL fireworks on the floor of the state assembly

I know it's purely theoretical and it will never, ever happen but blue state governors could take radical action to stymie Trump.

I just realized I hardly ever use the word "stymie". I will correct this oversight. I think it's an inherently funny word.

Inherently funny word

An inherently funny word is a word that is humorous without context, often more for its phonetic structure than for its meaning.

Vaudeville tradition holds that words with the /k/ sound are funny. A 2015 study at the University of Alberta suggested that the humor of certain nonsense words can be explained by whether they seem rude, and by the property of entropy: the improbability of certain letters being used together in a word. The philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer posited that humor is a product of one's expectations being violated.

I admit that kastymie would be even funnier.
