What are we expecting from Equador's election this weekend? Are the Correistas gonna take back power and get the ship righted, or are we stuck with Compradoboa?

Finnish national news is doing its wholesome "would you look at our great defensive alliance"-posting in the English section of the news.
But they don't forget to add a bit of ominous scare mongering:
According to the Commander of the Lapland Air Wing, Colonel Saku Joukas, the jets and their crews are prepared for anything — even though the mission is a routine one for Nato.
Do not google "Lapland Air Wing flag"
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) says that the freezing of USAID funds has plunged entire NGOs, media outlets and journalism (🤣) around the world into chaos. They readily pronounce that much of the world's “journalism” is paid for by Washington's dollars.
“In Ukraine, 9 out of 10 media outlets rely on USAID funding” USAID programs funds US interest media in more than 30 countries The agency funds at least 6,200 journalists, 707 “news outlets” and 279 media-sector “civil society organizations”. Any sovereign country has already prohibited this.
The best part is that RSF's director came out, pearls clutched, to say that the foreign aid industry IS in fact very much in line with U.S. interests.
here's the RSF story they're quoting: archive | original link
and some similar whining from the china propaganda squad that is now at risk of missing the $1.6 b anti-china propaganda bucks bill that was passed last fall
Seems that RSF and MSF don't share structure except for their founding place. It surprised me when I saw MSF post about USAID positively, and now this... I thought they got bombed by Obama for a reason.
How will I get my Radio Free Asia reporting on North Korea now?
you love to see it
Not certain if news worthy or not (re. Trump's executive orders and US government contractors)
Just got a message from CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) about how all contractors and employees are to cease using anything related to gender in our files, documents, contracts, etc in order to defend against 'gender ideology'. Only the use of 'He', 'She', and 'Gender' are allowed. We must remove any terms related to 'gender ideology' such as: Gender, Transgender, Inclusivity, and Nonbinary.
This is part of Trump's Executive Order 14168. Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government (Defending Women). Also in this document is a mention that CMS won't be sending a national message about their compliance with this executive order.
Made the horrible mistake of looking into a r/Europe post about how the Brazilian goverment banned X and froze Elon Musk's assets in Brazil, and Elon had to back down, and how Europe could learn from that. Besides the people explaining the situation better and some people thinking it's ok, since Elon broke the law in Brazil.
There are a lot of Americans and America Bootlickers saying stuff like: Lula is a communist dictator, He's Putler friend so he's evil, Freedom of speech, and other weird shit. How the fuck is Lula a dictator when he was elected after being released from jail, holy shit, these people literally cannot comprehend that the US law isn't valid in other countries and that other countries simply do not have absolute freedom of speech, racism and xenophobia are literal crimes in Brazil.
r/Europe
You would find more support in a klans rally than there.
Also Brazil Supreme Court banned X not the executive (Lula). Reddit europe sub is full of nazis. They were agaist banning AFD in Germany because muh freedom of speech.
Venezuelans Commemorate the 33rd Anniversary of the 1992 Rebellion - Telesur English
Article
On February 4, 1992, the actions of Commander Hugo Chavez paved the way for the Bolivarian Revolution. On Tuesday, Venezuelans remember a crucial moment in their nation’s history: the day when a group of patriotic military officers, led by Commander Hugo Chavez, decided to rise up against a political system that had betrayed the people.
Yesterday, Diosdado Cabello, vice president of the Unified Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), announced that progressive forces in his country would hold a march in Caracas to mark the Day of National Dignity. The massive mobilization will begin at the Venezuela Square and move along the capital city’s main avenues until reaching Los Proceres boulevard.
February 4, 1992, marked the beginning of a process that would forever change the country’s course and pave the way for the Bolivarian Revolution. More than just a military uprising, February 4 was a reflection of popular discontent with neoliberal policies that had plunged Venezuela into misery and neglect.
“The social explosion of the Caracazo in 1989 had already exposed the discontent of a people tired of injustice, corruption, and the handing over of national resources to foreign interests. Chavez and his comrades understood that it was time to step forward and change history,” the outlet Con el Mazo Dando explained.
The text reads, “February 4, 1992: ‘National Dignity Day’ is celebrated in Venezuela. It is the anniversary of the civil-military rebellion, known as 4F, which was commanded by the Bolivarian Revolution leader Hugo Chavez, along with a group of comrades from the Armed Forces.”
“Although the action did not achieve its immediate objective, it planted a revolutionary seed that would flourish with Chavez’s rise to power in 1999,” it added, recalling that the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution described what had happened as a setback ‘for now.’ “The ‘For Now’ he uttered that day was not a defeat but a commitment that the struggle was only beginning. And so it was: the people awakened and, with Chavez at the helm, began building a new model based on sovereignty, social justice, and participatory democracy,” Con el Mazo Dando pointed out.
“Today, under the leadership of President Nicolas Maduro, the spirit of February 4 remains more alive than ever. Facing imperialist attacks and adversity, the Bolivarian Revolution stays on the course set by Chavez, with a firm conviction to defend Venezuela’s independence and the well-being of its people,” it added. “February 4 is not just a historical date. It is a symbol of struggle, dignity, and resistance. It is the day when the hope for a truly free and sovereign nation was born,” Con el Mazo Dando concluded.

United States President Donald Trump assures that Israel will hand over Gaza to the U.S. at the end of the conflict. He says that the Palestinian people will be relocated to "safer and more beautiful" places.
- Telesur English
OK so he’s pawning off the ethnic cleansing back onto the Israelis. And the Israelis don’t have the ability nor the willingness to do so. I think we’re just back to square one, i.e. this is Trump trying to save face but I think ultimately he’s backing down.
I think he's posturing about this to try force the USA's Arab puppet regimes (in Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE) to come up with their own "solution" to the issue of Gaza. But for this negotiation tactic to work, Trump has to show that he's serious and will follow through in making Gaza a US protectorate, to force these countries into action. Just like how he showed that he would implement tarrifs. Which is a very volatile situation, this is a matter of ethnic cleansing, much higher stakes than some tarrifs.
In an ironic twist of fate, Trump gives Germany to the Palestinians as their own ethnostate, and no one is particularly upset.
Where should the Germans be relocated to? I say Lichtenstein.
at the end of the conflict.
Oh ok lol, there's only one way this end and it doesn't involve Israel determining who goes where
The United States claims Panama has complied with Trump's wishes, and that American vessels are passing through the Panama canal without paying tolls, but Panama denies, and says nothing has changed

???
Kinda goes with the theory that all these threats of annexation are just performative to make him look tough
Not that Panama really needed much to make it say yes.
Yes, I saw some liberal media outlets say that Trump is sort of doing his own "Madman Theory".
