Here is the leading opposition candidate saying, verbatim, during the genocide in Gaza: "as commander in chief, I will ensure America always has the strongest, MOST LETHAL fighting force in the world" To which the crowd responded by chanting "USA USA USA". The USA is a fascist and genocidal empire, no matter which of the two flavours of imperialism is in the White House.

she had a two or three week period of support and then she completely ruined it by promising to capitulate to the right and reaffirmed America's prepardness for war. i saw leftists of all types say they were willing to vote for her as a means to reject fascism if she listened to their concerns. there were tons of jokes about "letting liberals have this one" and the discomfort of having to align with liberals on something. it wasn't every leftist, of course, but.. i'll speak as myself i wasn't expecting Biden to drop out so him actually fucking off gave me the smallest twinkle of hope lol. then it was obliterated. she campaigned with Liz Cheney. Liz. Cheney. great job. very smart of you.

[–] sisatici@hexbear.net 57 points 1 week ago

Look at all the deportations. Isn't it horrible? I know kamala was also campaigning on deportation but if she was president I would be able to completly ignore politics as I went to brunch

MFW I'm in an "aligning oneself with war criminals" competition and my opponent is a Democrat nominee

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 52 points 1 week ago (1 children)

not just liz, they flopped out old dick cheney for us too

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The robomechanical heart piloting the Dick Cheney biosuit performed admirably

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 15 points 1 week ago

There's no heart in there comrade

[–] REgon@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago

That change coincided with UKs Labour party sending advisors over. And previous Clinton staffers coming on board. Lol. Lmao even.

i was one of the leftists who talked himself into voting for harris up until i saw this exchange; it made me realize that she dgaf about the genocide she was enabling; as did 6 million other democrats that chose not to vote for her for the same reason during the election, as per the yougov poll.

i sincerely hope that she doesn't run again since she's proven herself to be a ghoul of the highest order.

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 34 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I honestly doubt it matters if she runs again. The empire is dead, we aren't getting any non-ghouls

[–] blindbunny@lemmy.ml 24 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I tried to vote for her. Looked up my states voting history, filled out the rest of the ballot. Then voted PSL. If FRSO was on the ballot I would have voted for them.

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 22 points 1 week ago

i proud that i didn;t; i had to write in psl in my state.

i would be VERY angry w myself if i had voted for harris; not only did she end up bieng the worse option for the genocide; but her administration barely lifted a finger to enact the equal rights amendment to protect us from project 2025.

[–] meowMix2525@lemm.ee 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Same. I wrote in PSL and then joined the party lmao. Great org so far, highly recommend getting involved if you can.

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 33 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The way libs reacted to that was very funny. It was like they had the same libidinal response as a Trumper watching him own the libs but instead it was Kamala scolding the left.

Two sides, same coin, etc, you know the drill.

"why isn't she listening to us? We're voting for her after all"

[–] REgon@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago

And the other end of the pendulum "Why won't you vote for her?! She might listen to you if you did!"

I'll never forget her being pressed on how her administration would differ from Genocide Joe's. "I'll have a republican in my administration."

[–] stink@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 1 week ago

After she couldn't come up with an answer, then backpedaled after a new question came up to give that lousy response

[–] Lemister@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They were screaming about the end of democracy but republicans in the administration is somehow fine?

[–] Biggay@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

we want a strong republican party

[–] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 46 points 1 week ago

Really wild that that line not only didn't get any pushback, it was repeated a ton. How is that not just an open admission that we're a death cult aiming to stack the bodies as high as possible just for the sake of doing it?

[–] kleeon@hexbear.net 43 points 1 week ago

the only real difference is that she didn't do a sieg heil after saying all this

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 31 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I just wish the current regime didn't want to murder me.

Oh well. It was only a matter of time regardless. They're gonna find out the hard way that we weren't given queer rights: we fucking took them. And we'll take them back.

[–] bbnh69420@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Woulda been cool if Harris had taken a stand against the attack on trans people instead of caving immediately and saying “I would follow the law”

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Problem is she also wants us dead. She just wants to keep her hands clean in the eyes of the public.

[–] bbnh69420@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

Yerp. Love to vote in a democracy

[–] peppersky@hexbear.net 28 points 1 week ago

Democracy is when you get to choose between 20th century facism and 21st century facism

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

When you realize the American people looked her dead in the eye and thought “not evil enough” and voted in Trump because 4chan told them to.

[–] REgon@hexbear.net 17 points 1 week ago

I honestly think it had more to do with Trump being able to admit things weren't being handled well. Not that his handling would be better, but he was at least able to say "they're doing a shit job."
It's one of the reasons the right wing gets more support in times of crisis. Liberals focus on suppressing the left, so they can't say anything and the only other people out there who are at least willing to point out how shit everything is, are the rabid fascists. They're wrong about why things are bad, but at least they're not going not-listening about the world
