Not sure when Musk ‘went crazy’ but it was long before that car was made. The 2018 Thai cave diving incident was the moment I realised something was off with this guy.

Yeah, same.

“Look, I’ve built an awesome submarine, I’m like a super hero, aren’t I awesome?!!?”

“Sorry, but that won’t work in this cave system, it’s not a practical solution.”

You’re a kid-fucker!”

That was probably the last forgivable exit

24 plate... So bought between the 1st of March and 31st of August 2024...

That's definitely after Musk went crazy.

Granted, people may not have seen the news of Musk calling someone a paedophile (2018 according to another commenter), I can certainly see that being the case.

But I dunno, by 2024 so much had been publicised that I doubt anybody wouldn't have heard at least a couple of bad things about him.

To be generous he may well have ordered the car before then...

Good news everyone! Several years ago I tried to logon to AOL. And it just went through!

That's a 2024 plate, last years. Think he went crazy before then.

Hmm the UK just gained a free cypertruck.

They are not legal here. So one was confiscated when someone drove it in from europe.

Maybe we can give Elon some free marketing. He launches a car into space.

Maybe the UK can make a big budget video. Building a modern, carbon fibre, reusable trebuchet and launch a cybertruck into a landfill.

Friend owns a Tesla, he absolutely can't wait for Musk to sell, be outed, or otherwise stop being associated with the brand so other drivers don't assume he's a fan!

One Pride sticker will get that message across.

Confirmation of gullibility and sadly an indicator of how unsuitable people gain power.

Never the less , I’m enjoying watching people, and the media (particularly the BBC) get off the Elon bus, because if you’re getting off now, you’ve been ok with some pretty disgusting shit for the last ten years and I will remind you if it all.

Musk annoys me, because as a space nerd, I love what he's done with SpaceX and how his company is revolutionising space travel and making it far cheaper to continue exploring.

I wish he would just stick to that, rather than letting everyone know much of a knob he is on a daily basis.

any progress made by Space X has been made despite their CEO, not because of him.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 2 points 9 hours ago

I'm willing to bet progress has accelerated at spacex since he kholed himself on twitter rather than interfering with daily affairs

[–] Jackthelad@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

It's his money that is funding it.

[–] ElcaineVolta@kbin.melroy.org 1 points 6 hours ago

pretty sure there are some hefty government subsidies keeping the lights on.

Well as he founded the company. So Not really. Same staff may have done similar for other companies. But it is hard to say the people would be together with the same goals without him.

But yeah. He is little more then money and bullying. His skill is non existant. And id be suprised if much of the corperate goals to reusable space flight are actually his. Rather then folks he paid to think.

I sorta imagine him walking into a room of random smart folks and saying. How much to go to mars. And letting others work the solution.
