I used to think “Cruelty is the point” was just a trite thing people said…

I’m so sorry to anyone in these states that is going to have to flee. It’s literally not safe within their borders it seems.

Fascism 101. Vilify a group and essentially make them "illegal" for existing. Then use the claim they are "criminals" or "undesirables" as justification for torture.

It is quite literally what the Nazis did not about 100 years ago.

Horrifying that this article is taking about the aim being taken at those that can't flee because of being imprisoned.

Yep. Believe me, I read it. I donated as much as I could this year to the ACLU and got it matched, they’re already filing suit I’m sure.

The way they treat those that they have total control over is how they want to treat everyone that’s queer. It’s time to get out of their jurisdictions.

Horrendous, inhumane. Soul crushing to know people that would allow this to happen exist

Cruelty is the point

What the actual fuck?! Why spend money on something so expensive and unnecessary. Not to mention the human rights violations.

I mean in this case the Florida administration is going out of its way to cause serious harm at a very high cost.

Assuming this article is true and not some click bait. But the fact it seems feasible in the first place also speaks volumes.

it is not clickbait. i have been following Erin's reporting for over a year, it's her entire job to report on trans issues in the US.

The FDC bulletin also suggests psychotropic medications and psychotherapy as sufficient alternatives to medical transition, ignoring widely accepted medical guidelines.

I'm sure the doctors are wrong!
