So, I play a lot of grand strategies and city builders. My proposal is we play one collectively Week by week. The thread gets used as a committee to make decisions, and then I play for 4 or 5 hours or until the thread's decisions have been actioned (or a big decision happens).

I'll take care of the minor nitty gritty of the game, and come back with a report or something.

I'm thinking something like Victoria 3 or Stellaris or Tropico. Could do rimworld or something. More complex games will require more interpretation and slower game play on my part.

I'm pretty sure there was a Dwarf Fortress file being passed around at one point, don't know what happened to it.

Oh yeah and for some games we could share start seeds/save files so there’s more shared experiences

Hexbear has invented poly gamedom and I am here for it.

Just bouncing around some ideas:

Hearts of Iron USSR: prefer not, very low social policy, pretty direct about what you're supposed to be doing. There are mods with more social policies, but I don't see it being anything more than waiting for political power to build, as well as German invasion. Some international politics will be open.

Victoria 3: Will take a long time do anything, depends on starting country and how aggressively revolution is pursued. Would Tsar Nich support revolutionary trade unions? Probably not, but the alternate path will take a long time.

Stellaris: start as workers co-op, probably quite chill compared to the previous two, though less interesting than Vic.

Tropico: Another chill option, a lot lower investment for me.

Workers and Resources: meaningful urban design choices, but will be a lot more work for me. I want to be good at this game, but God damn.

Terra Invicta: I'd need to practice, but has a lot of scope and China is a strong regional interest to play. Haven't played in a while.

Rimworld: hexbear commune. We'd sell drugs and have guns.

I think overall I want a game where I can enact meaningful decisions based on forum input while not being too much work on my end. It is also potentially educational, but don't take it too seriously.

Mod lists welcome.

Roleplay welcome (though don't take it too seriously, you can declare yourself minister of the interior at the outset, but that doesn't mean anything)

That would be fun. I remember back in the discord there was someone playing xcom with characters named after other users and used to give reports on how we’d done with screenshots 😆

Loosely based on that, but I did it with my friends and we just kinda chilled out in my living room with beers. Really cool times.

This is more a... poking around policy and simulation with some banter. Hopefully good times

Peaveful RimWorld with all of the weed farming mods ;)

Sounds fun! Could even do one of those asynchronous play by email games, like Neptune's Pride or something.
