Damn I'm honestly disappointed it took this long for a what appears to be a decent post apocalyptic zombie movie, and from 28 Days later no less.

Definitely interested. Fuck me I would not want to fight a rage virus zombie with a bow and arrow.

Spoilers for 28 Weeks Later

spoilerI'm a little confused how it would work, because the infected in 28 days and 28 weeks are stated to starve. Thats why it was pretty easy to contain in the UK until they get loose in the American recolonizing London thing.

Based on the wikipedia, it's stated the virus "returned", so maybe a fresher outbreak as opposed to one ongoing 28 year one.

Plus some people can be asymptomatic carriers.

[–] Guamer@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That is true, as seen in Weeks. Would be cool if they followed up on that idea.

[–] BashfulBob@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

I imagine a lot of paranoia and superstition about who is or isn't a carrier.

If you're a Twin Peaks fan, this is actually early.

Looks pretty dope. Also, at 1:47 you can see that Cillian Murphy really outdid Christian Bale in physically preparing for the role.

I hope we get 28 Centuries Later as well. Great Crusade era zombie apocalypse would be fire.

[–] miz@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago

hmm what happened to 28 Months Later

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

28 geologic eras later

Oh my mom would have been in love with this she was a big zombie movie head. Cool that Danny Boyle is still directing these.

Looks cool, but I'm a sucker for marketing/trailers. The soundtrack for this really does it for me.

looks cool. had been anticipating another installment for a while enough to where I would check the Wikipedia article just to see the "still in talks".

kind of intrigued they skipped "Months" and went to years. honestly, months would have been retreading old ground more or less, but "Years" is like multigenerational, profound cultural shift. looks like somewhat primitive resettlement, that long causeway. settlements that exploit geographic barriers. stuff like that excites my little kid in an adult brain, where I think about what makes a "cool base" lol.

also, that giant, very tall and balanced pile of skulls. wtf was that about and how do I not piss those people off?

I found a YouTube link in your post. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

I liked the first one but I was really disappointed by 28 Weeks. anyone else

[–] TheColonel@reddthat.com 2 points 1 month ago

Yup. It was straight slapstick in places.

More of a dull action movie but this has the original writer and director back, so I’m more excited for it.
