Now, we will see how they tear Syria apart with fundamentalist terrorists. The EU and the US won once again while killing and pillaging another country.

Now, the hienas in Europe can finally have blooded nat gas to supply their destroyed economy.

Not sure EU won here since they're going to be saddled with a ton of new refugees, and all the pillaging will likely be done by Turkey, Israel, and the US.

Heard of scorched earth policy? : )

scorched earth policy

Very interesting and yes this explains a lot how Syria went from being fully self sufficient country with grain and oil exports to importing grain and oil.

Yeah, western and khaleej-backed rebels and Kurds have been damaging Syria's hold on grain and oil... now I hope one of the rebels have the common sense to deny Israel, Europe, or America the national advantage

After all, they're not one homogenous group to all believe in their lies, do they? They all are self-interested bastards...

@ me if they're too dedicated to western backers or if they do the mujahideen route and become rogue

You are being too harsh, they are busy organizing free and fair elections where all religious and ethnic groups will have a say in the future of the country. How could you accuse them of being tools of imperialism/ zionism? Wahhabists can never be wrong.

They're backed by Turkey, so they won't attack a NATO country. They will however attack the Kurds in AANES. I don't think SDF will want to make the same deal about autonomy under the same constitution that they wanted to make with Assad.

I respect the Kurds' right to self-determination. If Assad is truly gone and so is his government, then I hope SDF/Rojava declare independence and seek international recognition.

It would be very disappointing to see the users of this website cheer for ISIS-lite when they begin fighting """"""""""US-backed"""""""""" AANES.

Yeah, Kurds gaining independence could be one ray of light in all this.

Won't that just be next Kosovo, carved from the ruins of antiimperialist state? Though i imagine this will piss off Turkey immesely so maybe not?

[โ€“] yogthos@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 2 weeks ago

yeah neither Turkey or Israel would be ok with Kurdish independence
