It's probably because they don't pay enough.
People with the qualifications/experience don't want to work in central London for £35k.
Which means you only get people who really want to join GCHQ etc. for different reasons.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Add to that. Distrust in government by younger citizens. So much recent news about current and past UK wrongs.
I'm surprised any younger recruits exist.
There are always the hardcote bootlickers but yeah gen pop no longer views these regime whores anything respectable.
US is experiencing similar thing too. Within 30 years alphabet boys really ruined their reputation to where main stream just plains doesn't trust them.
Just government sanctioned thugs.
That's rather depressing, I didn't know souls were so cheap.
The UK also relaxed its recruitment rules in 2022, allowing citizens with foreign-born parents to join security agencies, to increase the labour pool.
You could have foreign-born parents before 2022, it just had to be from an 'approved nation' (no prizes for guessing which nations those were).

Not a problem in Canada of course, since we have the Temporary Foreign Workers Program. We'll just bring in a bunch of temporary foreign spies from less wealthy nations who will probably be happy to do the same job for half the salary.
Is this why Indian glowies feels so brazen about doing crime within Canada while justice tucks his dick and pretends it ain't happening?
