Newspapers need to just call RFK jr what he is - a child killer. Forget about this raw milk stuff and lay out the direct harm he has caused including deaths of babies from his vaccine misinformation.

They never will. Especially now that we've elected an authoritarian dictator who is hellbent on exacting retribution on anyone who may have slighted him.

And that includes literally just reporting objective reality. They might jail or execute one or two journalists to send a message, but they'll fall in line.

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

He's about to have the authority to effectively ban vaccines.

Yeah but y'know, you gotta have one very last last resort abortion method.

How do you fail to ask yourself why it was pasteurized in the first place?

[–] RubberColby@lemmy.world 23 points 6 days ago (5 children)

This is a situation where we let Darwinism take it's course. The people who are stupid enough to listen to this are going to drink it, get sick, and then wonder what happened. Maybe I'm more negative than usual, but fuck em. Let them fuck themselves.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 16 points 6 days ago

They're going to kill out kids, not just their kids and themselves. RFK Jr is a plague rat.

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 10 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Yeah but before they pass, they're gonna drain money from the failing health care system, which hurts everyone more than we are

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 8 points 6 days ago

They'll cut funding for real medicine, and funnel a small amount of money to homeopaths and faith healers as a consolation prize.

I look forward to the establishment of c/HermanCainAward

Yeah but we're talking about stupid people. In their brains they're probably convinced that milk is not heat treated to kill pathogens but because of government population control or something.

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 10 points 6 days ago

The fact that will even entertain this and other anti-scientific consensus bullshit in the conversation is the poison in the well.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 6 days ago

experts say it's dangerous

Then just get rid of them. Simple.

We should stop posting about Trump and his group of extraordinary morons.

The news cycle thrives on Trump, as every decision he makes manages to anger half the population, while the other half cheers him on simply to annoy liberals and progressives. This dynamic generates more clicks and ad revenue for news outlets, allowing Trump to continue making foolish decisions just to remain in the spotlight.

The only way to change this is to stop giving him space in the news.

Ignoring a problem won't make it go away.

We are past this though. I remember screaming this into the air at the radio listening to Jack Speer on NPR in 2016. He was going on and on about the awful things Trump was saying and how we shouldn't be hearing this. I screamed then why the fuck do you keep repeating it Jack, why?!? I blame the media 100% for his election in 2016, all that free publicity. 2024 though...I really don't have any answers...

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 2 points 5 days ago

Actually...

I think that of democracy will ever return to the US, current news outlets in the US should all go on the cutting block

Fuck the 24 hour news cycle where "journalists" all hunt around like creeps to get that latest story because we gotta broadcast something in those 24 hours... Let's broadcast any and all crime, making people feel unsafe. That'll get us more clicks!

News should be paid by an independent, neutral government organization that will finance actual journalism. The results from said journalism will be available on a number of sites, and maybe a Humber of TV channels at limited hours, like ut used to be in the past. News organizations should not and can not be owned by individuals, it WILL be abused. Laws must be enacted to require news to be truthful and anything even remotely pretending to be news should be limited by those laws. Mistakes can be made and when that happens, retractionsust be broadcasted or made available in websites with the same intensity as the mistake that was broadcasted

The US needs news sources that they can trust in because say what you want about magas, they're right in that the main stream media in the US is utter shit and cannot be trusted. It's just that they are wrong about what sources are bad. They're all bad, but their sources, fox news, oan, etc, are the worst by factors...

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

This should have happened after the 2020 election, but the news thrives on clicks and outrage, so they keep giving him attention and fucked us all for the sweet sweet revenue.

[–] Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world 13 points 6 days ago (1 children)

They are gonna make ignoring the government main stream.

The avocado toast of the right, except dangerous!

[–] TheObviousSolution@lemm.ee 8 points 6 days ago

What I'm reading is that they want to foster the greatest source of bankruptcies in the US, healthcare costs, while lowering the living standards to turn the US into a "third world shithole country". For added irony, while also having an oligarch who had to migrate away from his home country for contributing to do the same in their birth country and not being able to reap what they sowed, just to end up doing the same in their new country.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 6 points 6 days ago

If they allow non-prescription antibiotic use too, and gut Federal law requiring quarantine, that's a great way to get resistant strains of tuberculosis.

It's delicious! Give you diarrhea sometimes though.

I believe you can get brain worms from raw milk.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 1 points 5 days ago

Let's get back to the good old days from the 1700 where we would all die of dysentery!

Can we please make a rule in that stupid US constitution that says that claims from politicians have to be supported by actual peer reviewed scientific evidence before they can utter said claim?

It would make the difference of light and day already
