Xenia, the fox girl mascot of Linux, was first designed in 1996 by Alan Mackey. She was meant to be an alternative to Tux, the official mascot.

She had fallen into obscurity, but was noticed by a Twitter user in 2019 and was redrawn as a fox girl. But as it turned out, Xenia was originally meant to be male! The original creator, Alan, was cool with this, saying "It matches the transition of a lot of the smartest, nerdiest Linux users I know" and "And sure, you made her trans!".

So now we have a trans Linux mascot. And I think that's neat.

How bad is it that I accidentally injected a decent amount (0.01-0.05 ml) into my thigh? I switched needles after drawing the estrogen and forgot to push the air out. I stopped after I realized but I don’t know if any of the air came out

[–] belligerentkitten@hexbear.net 5 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

okay so my best understanding of this is that a) air in the needle is only dangerous if u inject it into a vein by accident, and b) it needs to be more air than that in order to kill you and c) it would have happened already if it were gonna

obviously it is important to remove the air in case u do actually hit a vein, u don't wanna rely on anything, but obv i understand accidents happen.

and also not a doctor

[–] Luna@hexbear.net 10 points 13 hours ago

dysphoria postingit's 8 pm, time to be super wistful about feeling like not being a cis girl has lead me to lose out on several life experiences that i'll never be able to have! agony

[–] Thallo@hexbear.net 7 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

spoilerBut you traded that for the experiences of a trans girl commie, which is pretty cool shrug-outta-hecks

Fun fact, t4t doesn't just mean "trans for trans", it has "normal" definitions too. (Traning for trainers, etc.)

Another midnighter due to my excessive course-workload, AND Asahi's decided to start having visible glitches in the File Manager. Both are my fault, because I took on more work than I could reasonably handle, and I tried to get fancy with a security patch on Asahi that's causing the visual bugs even after I removed the patch from my system.

I'm really breaking the "I post better when I'm tired" rule, I feel like I've just reached a point where I've lapped my maximum spoon count in negative spoons catgirl-flop

Does being nonbinary automatically make me trans?

[–] oscardejarjayes@hexbear.net 8 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago) (1 children)

Trans is usually defined as having a gender identity that's different from your sex, so yeah. But words are just words, you don't gotta go along with some definition.

not necessarily,,, plenty of enbies who dont consider themselves trans. cis or trans is just another binary and the whole point of being enby is to well,, not be in a binary, so its kinda based to not identify as either :3 (tho technically binary and non-binary is inherently a binary :3c)

[–] Luna@hexbear.net 7 points 14 hours ago

I would say so, at least in terms of not being cis. In other words, I would say that anybody who isn't cisgender is transgender. Therefore, as nonbinary people don't identify with their AGAB, they are trans! hexbear-non-binary hexbear-trans

There are also plenty of non-binary comrades (including myself from time to time) who post in this mega!

Well I'm starting Naltrexone today. I really hope it's enough to keep me out of rehab

I have gone days laughing at the absurdity of thinking. More often the thoughts fight themselves. Today was the latter but I was reminded of the exercise to ask who is perceiving what I think I perceive. β€œWho thinks this, who thinks that,” makes it sound like my mind is treating me like a dog and that is fun/ny. doggirl-smug

:))))) new calf boots came in and they fit like a dream. Surprisingly comfortable too. Snagged them on a hell of a sale and they fit my big ass t girl feet :))))

[–] ValenThyme@reddthat.com 6 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

13.5 W as it turns out is not a very popular shoe size!

I too am interested in larger shoes!

[–] ValenThyme@reddthat.com 3 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

any leads? i refuse to use amazon and so far my local stores have nothing. I'm about to try random shoe sites I just ordered some croc stomps out of desperation 🀣

[–] SuperZutsuki@hexbear.net 3 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Torrid is good for thicc feet. All the shoes I ordered fit quite comfortably. Onlymaker is tighter but better than typical fashion shoes (caveat: only have one pair with a square toe, so maybe the round/pointed ones are worse). Pleaser has "comfort width" that only goes up to size 11, but then has "pink label" that goes to 15 but it's all normal width angery. A size 14 Pleaser is much narrower and tighter than a Torrid 13. That's all I've tested right now. If you've got any recs let me know.

[–] ValenThyme@reddthat.com 3 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Torrid stops at 13 unfortunately 😭 i did just order some bras from them now that i hit my target weight though i'm pumped none of the local places have my weird bra size either.

I'm going to check out pleaser and onkymaker thank you for the recs!!

I just got them off Torrid. It sounds really obvious once I said it aloud but going to plus sized women's fashion lines also means they got shoes for girls with big feet. I'm a women's size 12.5, and all their shoes are for wide sizes, so they're a little roomy on my feet but nothing two pairs of socks can't fix

[–] SuperZutsuki@hexbear.net 2 points 13 hours ago

Yeah, Torrid's been a godsend for me. I just wish they had more styles and colors.
