I'm like that and I haven't gotten past character creation

You can literally re-spec and redesign your character at any point. There's no point to wasting your time picking the perfect aesthetic if you can simply change it 5 minutes later.

Unless, you know, they enjoy doing that

Ah. Their word choice of "gotten past" led me to assume they viewed it as an obstacle.

Haven't finished the game yet but this is my 11th Honor campaign

I played most of the game on my PS5. Then one day my wife wanted to watch TV during my normal gaming time so I bought the game for PC. Holy shit, man! Levels loaded 10x faster than on the PS5. It was so much of a better experience. The graphics were better too.

I want to continue BG3 so bad, but the D&D combat is absolutely not my cup of tea. I love the world, the story, the characters. I loathe turn-based combat. Such a bummer.

build yourself a pacifist character and try to talk your way out of conflict!

i hate turn based combat as well, but i pushed through and i don't regret it

I need to do that. The combat is not very fun and takes so much time compared to Divinity 2

honestly i just played at the lowest difficulty and picked a druid who by sheer chance turned out to be pretty OP in combat (imo). I still wanted to avoid bloodshed but when it came to it, I engaged combat from behind a corridor or a tight spot, slapped some ground spikes, and all melee enemies just died trying to walk up to me

Yeah, getting full health back when going in and out of owlbear form is pretty OP, and it hits like a truck.

Yeah doesn't sound very compelling but still more creative than most AAA games

I hated it at first as well. I really had to explore a lot and level up before it got good. Unlocking more abilities as you level really helps, especially on the melee characters which get extra attacks per turn.

We abused Asto a lot as a sneak attack sniper and locksmith.

You can save mid-conversation if you're trying to get a particular outcome.

Is there any way to go back to previous acts? I want to take my character that’s finished the game back and just explore a bit more.

[–] ralakus@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Not to my knowledge. You can go back from act 2 to the act 1 areas but you can't go from act 3 back to the act 1 and 2 area

My laptop died, I'm poor, and I'll probably never get to play it. It makes me sad.
