Just trying to hedge her bets. Doesn't want to be fully against Trump if he wins, but wants to be able to say she warned about this if he loses and the party collapses into infighting. Just a rat getting in position to flee a sinking ship.

her words about trump turning away women ring pretty hollow when she's still going to fucking vote for him

[–] d00phy@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago

My thoughts exactly. Fuck her.

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

If her words cause more than one person not to, she's helping.

[–] tmt1eapd@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Proof she is a lizard.

[–] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 85 points 1 week ago

She’s still gonna vote for him though

[–] kevindqc@lemmy.world 61 points 1 week ago

The "ripping to shreds":

This is not a time for them to get overly masculine with this ‘bromance’ thing that they’ve got going. 53 percent of the electorate are women. Women will vote.

clearly she's setting herself up to be the antimaga standard bearer. her problem is that even without trump, there's not enough rational republicans left in the party. what the party is going to do now is continue to purify itself to be more maga. if it's not going to be trump again (and remember, there's no law or constitutional restriction that says felons, incarcerated or not can't run for or be elected president), the next charismatic magat is going to be the next nominee. because the most rabid, reactionary, and active member of that party are all magats.

The good news is that cults of personality tend to fail if their personality becomes a disgraced loser.

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What do they do when their personality was a disgraced loser from the start?

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Con them into doing a Truman-like reality tv show (that they don’t know about;) and then gaslight the ever living fuck out of them?

Edit: I know. Tell him he’s doing a TV show called “Best Wing” (or whatever,) and tell him it’s like West Wing, but it highlights the glory of his presidency. Throw in some cheap flattery, bury in his contract the relevant permissions and that he can quit any time by exiting the full the Trump Stage (through a door at the top of a few flights of stairs)

Set up the Best Wing studio to be like a big brother set, complete with hidden halls so they can pop out and move stuff and generally fuck with the guy.

he was such a disgraced loser in 2020 his deranged followers assaulted the capitol. I dunno, I think those bozos will come out for trump no matter how low he falls.

[–] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago

Exactly. There's a very clear correlation between when Trump's support started to fade and when Harris metaphorically pants him at the debate by daring to laugh at him when he talked about Haitians and made him look like an utter jackass.

Trumps followers are bullies, and they follow a lead bully. When that lead bully gets a taste of his own medicine, their supporters grow unsure of their allegiance.

It's all highschool bullshit with Trump and MAGA.

[–] yesman@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

next charismatic magat

I dispute that Trump is charismatic. Listening to him talk is like watching a drunk man cross an icy street.

I think this goes back to the Hitler myth that he could sway and mesmerize Germans. Of course, this idea became popular in the post war years when support for the Nazis became embarrassing. The truth is that fascism is simply popular. If Trump has proved anything it's that his supporters are jumping into the abyss with their eyes wide open.

[–] Breezy@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Thats honestly terrifying. How do we kill it?

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 5 points 1 week ago

Fix the problems that fascists use to make people feel threatened by "others". For instance you can't make people worried about immigrants taking their jobs if there's plenty of jobs or losing your job didn't mean your life was fucked.

[–] Noobnarski@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Germany was doing pretty bad economically after the first world war and especially after the great depression. Lots of people had no jobs and couldn't afford anything.

Wages of the average worker aren't keeping track with inflation right now, so that's what would have to be changed to have any chance at stopping this.

Russia also needs to stop trying to destabilise the western world.

[–] Breezy@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Are we going to have to go through some nazi shit where we as a country feel so bad we change? Is that what trump is? Or is he a part of the end of the world. I guess we'll find out soon.

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 39 points 1 week ago

This surprised me knowing what we know about Haley kowtowing to Trump even after being denigrated by him time after time.

The problem is this news source. It doesn't report she's telling her supporters to vote for Trump

Here are others on the same story:

The Hill - Haley: Support for Trump an ‘easy call’

The Independent - Nikki Haley pens last-minute op-ed backing Trump and says it was ‘an easy call’ despite constant primary bashing

NBC News - Nikki Haley says Pennsylvania voters must 'take the emotion out' and elect Trump

[–] CrunkBy@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago

the thing is she'll instantly flip again if he wins, and asks for her be on his team. Not to mention she's still voting for him anyway. Don't believe the hype yall

[–] Professorozone@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago

Didn't she say she's still going to vote for him? I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her.

[–] ChillPenguin@lemmy.world 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] BlitzoTheOisSilent@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And his wife? How is she holding up?

[–] BobbyGasoline@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

To shreds, you say.

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

I can understand why.

[–] thisphuckinguy@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Can someone let her know that no one cares what she says?

I disagree with Nimarata Randhawa. The Trump campaign should continue with their current alpha dog messaging.
