Wasn't one of his wives dying of cancer at the time he was cheating on her?

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 87 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Yup. According to Wikipedia:

According to L. H. Carter, Gingrich's campaign treasurer, Gingrich said of Jackie: "She's not young enough or pretty enough to be the wife of the President. And besides, she has cancer."[269][270] Newt has denied saying it.[266]

That was his first wife he cheated on. But his second wife got the same treatment:

Gingrich filed for divorce from Marianne in 1999, a few months after she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.[280]

He met his current wife because she was a House staffer, and carried on another affair while impeaching Bill Clinton over... well. you know. That marriage has lasted 20+ years.

Isn't it always the case that the most vocal people about moral issues are also the ones with the longest "Personal Life" section on Wikipedia?

Thats a name I could do without hearing ever again. One of the main proponents of the "my way or go fuck yourself" politics that we are now stuck with...

Yup, I had to laugh when a lot of future magabrainz, but who called themselves teabaggers at the time, were telling each other and anyone else that would listen that Obama was so "divisive". What they really meant was that Obama was a nKLANGer, as well as being uppity, oops, I mean, "arrogant", as they would update it.

Meanwhile, for anyone that cared to look would easily know that the two people most responsible for any division in the country were Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich. Newt actually had classes on sowing division.

You missed the opportunity to call Obama a Clanker with your censorship. Roger-Roger.

AT LEAST. He may have already cheated on his third wife and it simply hasn't been made public.

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 34 points 1 week ago

who has been caught cheating on 66% of his wives

FTFY.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 32 points 1 week ago (1 children)

didn't he die already and why not

[–] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Hell: "We already took henry kissinger! Bitch, talk to heaven or keep him yourself! "

[–] mmcintyre@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago

I wouldn't bet that he ain't cheated on all his wives.

[–] hypeerror@sh.itjust.works 19 points 1 week ago

66% that we know about.

[–] makyo@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago

Thanks Newt, please do spread the message that women don’t need to vote like their husbands

[–] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

I'm with y'all, I'm more disappointed that he's still stealing oxygen. At least Rush and Kissinger had the decency to finally kick it before fascism became so goddamn close to reality

[–] blindbunny@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Reminder that newt ended Office of Technology Assessment if you ever wonder why a South African apartheid nepo baby has so much power in America newt is your answer.

[–] banshee@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Whoa! Thank you for sharing - did not realize that

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago

This really is highly triggering stuff for a certain kind of "man".

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

I'm pooping right now, and straining. So I misread the headline as

Gingrich, who has cheated on all 66 of his wives, rails against Harris ad telling woman to ‘lie’ to husband

[–] tenchiken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 1 week ago

Fuck you Newt.

[–] LEDZeppelin@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

That’s Rich coming from Ging

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

He went on to say that the modern Democratic party lacks the qualities of presidents it once housed, including former President Kennedy.

Speaking of infidelity…

[–] b3an@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

Maybe weak Republican men who control their wives lives SHOULD have their wives taking control of something that is their own. Like their bodies. Or their right to vote.

[–] thesporkeffect@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

It's just crazy to me that he found at least 3 women interested in having sex with him. He has the sexual energy of a rotten pumpkin. Just completely unfuckable (but apparently not?)

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (3 children)

Relatively high percentage of those wives he cheated on were dying of cancer at the time as well, yes?

[–] Honytawk@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 week ago

Coincidence? Or is the guy radioactive and toxic to be around?

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

one cancer, one MS

[–] winterayars@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

He knows what he's doing.

[–] tquid@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago

Weird that this is the counter-narrative out there instead of pointing out that the shitstains are fine with terrorizing their wives so that they’d NEED to lie

[–] AidsKitty@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

Yes the people they chose to marry.
