Duh…

Republicans ALWAYS tank the economy. It’s their standard playbook.

  1. Tax cuts for the wealthy.

  2. Profit

  3. Tank the economy

  4. Print money

  5. Lagging inflation

  6. Hang the debt bill on the working class taxpayers

  7. Rinse & repeat the cycle

6b. Blame the Democrats for a failing economy in the first 30 days when they get back in office.

Excellent add. This is key.

You forgot step zero of the kleptocracy: blame the Democrats and/or some defenseless minority whose vote you don't need.

It's not a bug, its a feature.

Every economic crash that we've had, has resulted in a monumental transfer if wealth. 2008, Covid. The rich have soaked it all up.

But when the storm passes and everyone realizes we are on sounder footing, there will be a rapid recovery to a healthier, sustainable economy

Uh no. When winds were favorable to the billionaires they did the whole stock buyback, not get us on the fast track to a rapid recovery. When we put the tariffs on steel, we didn't get a stronger steel industry, we got US Steel going up for potential sale to the Japaneses.

This "there will be rapid recovery" every, single, stinking, time someone says this, the exact opposite happens. There's been no evidence that this would ever happen.

These Republicans are quick to say things like "Communism might sound great on paper, but it doesn't work in the real world." Well neither has this.

We're in weird times tho. The wealth gap isn't just widening, it's fucking Usain Bolt sprinting away from us. The rich get richer, the poors get to eat the bag of shit that trickles down. So yeah, I'm sure there will be a rapid recovery to a healthier, sustainable economy... If you are in the top 1%. If not, well, you should have just worked harder and got rich dummy.

These two are like boiling beans, they bubble up and say some weird shit that makes no sense and make a big mess in the process. Best just to put the lid on and ignore them for a bit, oh and maybe turn the heat down . . .

Election 2028 will be Musk vs Harris. He has tasted the power now.

[–] bitchkat@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is he retroactively going to get natural born citizen status like he got Tesla founder status?

[–] syreus@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I could see Magas backing him while also asking for Obama's birth certificate. Not a great leap in mental gymnastics for them.

I mean that's a win for Democrats... It would just split the Republicans. While not even a corrupt court would ever rule that someone who publicly aired he illegally immigrated to this country could be considered a natural born citizen.

And they won't get 2/3 vote to amend the Constitution to change the presidential requirements... Unless they have already arrested all of one of the legislative branch. Which at that point it's all moot because it would be already a dictatorship and they would either choose their successor or be assassinated by them.

Isn't it strange, I thought Trump was going to give Musk a job in the white house, or is Musk just creating a spot for himself and sell himself as the solution? American politics is weird.
