This really plugs my drain, man. When I worked in payroll, I would've known it was dicey accepting gifts from employees or managers. And I was nobody, just an ordinary worker-schmoe.

Judges should be held to a higher standard, not no frickin' standard at all.

It wasn't my croppage, but I've fixed it, thanks.

Being old, death gets my attention, so I read the obituaries. This is a collection of recent obits, mostly of people whose work touched my life, because I want to say thanks (or maybe give 'em a final fuck you).

There’ll be a roundup like this occasionally, until I’m on the list myself.

I missed it too, but now I'm laughing so hard the cat is hiding down the hall... :)

Absolutely agree with the excerpt. Audio-video works best for entertainment, but learning and understanding comes from reading, in my experience.

Odd that she's making this point in an audio podcast, but her transcript is appreciated, and I'm reading it, not listening.

Ah, the sign. Hadn't noticed that & right you are.

The article's use of "one's" is correct, but repeating the phrase twice within inches is, well, repetitive.

Hilarious is the first word that springs to mind, alongside heartbreaking. You know these bastards are going to make the wrong decision.

$200, eh? Yeah, I'll probably take my chances and skip any more booster shots.

I've only ridden the Empire Builder for one round trip, and there wasn't time enough for leisure like this, but now that I'm retired maybe there's time...

Can I have a crumpet?

[–] DougHolland@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

Thanks. Can't particularly disagree with that.

The wind doesn't usually molest children.
