I danced with Wyl and then Gale got all jealous and made me pick between him and Wyl.

I put poly on the table but he wasn't interested.

Sad times for my queer poly self insert PC.

Halsin will join in a poly relationship with the PC and an origin character IIRC.

Spoilers for Act 3 stuff. Prewarning because spoiler tags don't work on some mobile apps.

Act 3 RomanceShadowheart feels very liberated once you've spared the Nightsong, and Halsin is very much a free love character. There's even a scene where the PC and Shadowheart can hire a pair of sex workers and invite Halsin to join.

Yeah, they're there.

It's just not everyone is into it

Well therein lies the answer: not everyone is into it. I have to admit that it's odd considering Ed Greenwood's very meticulous (and often problematic) coverage of sex and sexual positivity in the Forgotten Realms lore, but poly isn't everyone's thing. Maybe I'll be proven wrong in the future but my understanding, and current consensus among my very progressive crowd, is that poly is not on the same level as sexuality or gender representation. BG3 needs ace/aro representation first.

You have okay options to play an ace/aro character, you have options to form close bonds with most of your companions without sex for sure. (Was pleasantly surprised that as horny as Karlach is, you have very clear options to set boundaries there and still have that relationship. ) And of course, you don't have to romance anyone, but can still raise their approval and earn their trust/friendship.

Admittedly though, there isn't really any representation from non-player characters, which is unfortunate.

I... feel like I should go back to the brothel. Just to make sure I didn't miss any quests.

Oh, thank you for that! I'm glad to know that it's not just universally ruled out

Larian taking the realism too far. 🥲

They should have made it a charisma check.

"I roll to seduce the entire camp... Nice 18!"

"Heads or tails?"

"Heads...?"

"You're the bottom."

"Say what?"

Say what you will about bottoms but at least they have union jobs.

I'm upset that I do not get the joke. Assuming it is one. 😭

It's weird that Gale isn't poly because he has such a hard on for Mystra.

I can kind of get why laezel and shadow heart dont want to be metamours.

I would like to see more positive poly representation in media. I think all there is is like.. a few minor parts in NK jemisen's books, maybe sense8. More realistic to me poly that's independent relationships. Where it's treated like how you treat your friend having other friends, and not subject to unchecked jealousy and insecurity.
