Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

The best part about all of this DEI stuff?

It's pap!

My partner is on the DEI board for where she works and it's just... so nothing

They just pat themselves on the back for hiring a couple of people who aren't white and occasionally have get-togethers

They have no direct influence on hiring and I've never once in three years if eavesdropping on their meetings hear anything about them denying straight white men jobs

It'd be funny if it weren't just another sign that the average chud is just that bloodthirsty

Chuds think every corpo pandering is the end of the world and shows that society is communist, or whatever. It's pure derangement.

this is what I've seen in the companies I've worked for

they just make a really big deal about hiring anyone who isn't a white man and pat themselves on the back. the less like a white man the more they pat and the more points they give themselves

Capitalist support of LGBTQ and minority issues has always been conditional and cynical. capitalist-woke can turn into porky-happy the second that supporting minority rights appears unprofitable.

Ahh, yes, giving in to the demands of terrorist. Excellent course of action that.

“narrow our community activities to align with STEM education and workforce readiness,”

Pretend I did my usual rant about how Tech firms, testing companies, christian fascists, and neoliberal austerity ghouls combined forces to gut the US public education system and turn it in to a factory floor for proletarianized tech workers.

Toyota if you buy me a cool black coat, mirrored sunglasses, a Mac-10, and refer to me as "Samurai" I will (in minecraft) [Redacted} this guy for you.

Toyota is among a handful of companies Starbuck has targeted in recent months for their “woke” policies. Harley-Davidson Inc., Lowe’s Cos. and Ford Motor Co. said they would curb their DEI efforts, including scaling back programs directed at LGBTQ groups. Ford and farm goods retailer Tractor Supply Co. are among companies that pulled out of the HRC rankings.

Fucking fascists.

Hamas: Sure we'll give you back the hostages if you stop genociding us.

TERRORISTS! SEE HOW UNREASONABLE THEY ARE!! porky-scared-flipped

Chuds: You better not treat trans people as humans or else you're going to lose my money on your product I was never going to buy in the first place.

Damn I guess we got no choice, these guys drive a hard bargain. porky-happy

Fucking fascists.

I'm firmly convinced western "culture" is just fascism.

If everyone is so desperate for your approval that you can bully multi-billion dollar corporations into not sticking up for groups no one is allowed to like…

YOU ARE NOT OPPRESSED!

EDIT: Made my rant more concise and glaze-free

Jesus how are 4chan trolls so powerful they can regularly run circles around literal multi-billion dollar corporations just because they’re bored on a weekend?

The same group of fascist groypers that convinced boomers there's a powerful cabal of gay mobsters running Hollywood and big corporations when in reality the "mafia" is themselves. It's always projection same-picture

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago

Yeah, I’m Gen Z but just old enough to recognize a lot of 4chan chuds got off on the idea of them essentially being digital gangsters.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realise this was "starbuck" and not "starbucks". I was so confused why Starbucks was now going on an anti-dei crusade.
