This is what it is like to live under Fascism. It’s been like this the whole time, but for the first time in history the victims of genocide are able to broadcast their lived reality directly to the Western populace, largely via TikTok, and that makes maintaining the facade that the ‘Liberal, Rules-Based World Order’ is anything other than the continuation of violent imperialism much harder.
Palestine
A community for everything related to Palestine and the occupation currently underway by the occupying force known as Israel.
Anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism. Existence is resistance for Palestinians.
Please refer to Israel as Occupied Palestine, or occupied territories. The IDF is a fascist and ethnonationalist occupying force. Israelis are settlers. We understand however that the imperial narrative (which tries to legitimise Israel) is internalised in the imperial core and slip-ups are naturally expected.
We always take the sides of Palestine and Palestinians and are unapologetic about it. Israel is an occupying power whose "defence force"'s (note the contradiction) sole purpose for existing is to push Palestinians out so they can resettle their rightful land. If you have anything positive to say about Israel we do not care.
Honestly seeing how modern Israelis are reacting makes me understand what Germans were really like back then; On the one hand Israelis feign ignorance and say most or every photo or video of violence coming out of Gaza is Pallywood, and on the other hand they openly admit to one another that they have zero care for the lives of Gazans and even wish them all dead (Israeli media is insanity).
I know the German populace were aware of what was happening in the concentration camps, but I would've assumed they just didn't care; now though, extrapolating from what I'm seeing with Israelis, I believe the Germans were most likely quite happy with it (the Ukrainians were certainly known to the Germans to enjoy the killing of the Polish and Jewish peoples; I don't doubt the Germans were the same).
these people are actually judging military successes literally by civilian body count
Isn't that why some yankkkees argue they won the Vietnam war?
they also argue they beat North Vietnam, chose to leave, then North Vietnam beat south Vietnam later independent to the US
I expect reactionaries to celebrate the mass killing of foreign civilians, but it's utterly repulsive every time I see libs arguing this point. When you compare Iran and Russia's efforts, and you see the either non-existent or exceedingly low civilian body counts, it puts it into sharp perspective how easily we could've avoided the shockingly high civilian deaths in the countries we invaded.
Is the measurement of success against rebels by the number of murder of innocent people the policy of Colombian army?
Retaliation against Isn'treal should not stop until every offensive capability is taken out. The only way to stop them from killing innocent people is to make it so they cannot fight at all.
Honestly Israel has proven it's beyond reasoning with; if not for the United States having their back, this would 100% have been the best and frankly only solution.
Does the news think we're all stupid? ARE we all stupid? Are there actually that many people falling for this?
I think it's the media's deliberate manipulating of information and humanity's natural bystander effect
Specifically one study where students had to complete an exam and they pumped smoke under the door to see the results:
According to the principle of social influence, bystanders monitor the reactions of other people in an emergency situation to see if others think that it is necessary to intervene. If it is determined that others are not reacting to the situation, bystanders will interpret the situation as not an emergency and will not intervene.
The media portraying the genocide are calmly telling burgerland that everything is fine, something people universally want to believe. It's not that we can't. in fact when students were alone in the smoky room they were much faster to report the smoke. But when they were in groups they did not.
Referring to the smoke experiment, even though students in the groups had clearly noticed the smoke which had become so thick that it was obscuring their vision, irritating their eyes or causing them to cough, they were still unlikely to report it. Only one participant in the group condition reported the smoke within the first four minutes, and by the end of the experiment, no-one from five of eight groups had reported the smoke at all.
I think this is kinda close to the dynamic i mean. The "smoke" of the genocide (and expanding war) is literally in yanks faces but for the calming effect of the media they still trust, acting as they always do, as if hundreds of thousands of lives aren't catching in their fucking throats.
Similarly, interpretations of the context played an important role in people's reactions to a man and woman fighting in the street. When the woman yelled, "Get away from me; I don't know you," bystanders intervened 65 percent of the time, but only 19 percent of the time when the woman yelled, "Get away from me; I don't know why I ever married you.“
And here i might be really stretching but i say here is where the lie "they've been fighting for thousands of years" works on the masses, who don't know Israel is an invention younger than the sitting president.
Woof effort posting is hard I'm gonna stop
Thank you for the post; it's sad that it works like this; I would genuinely hope though that there was a limit to what people could take, but after about a year I realize people are endlessly ready to be told that actually it's all fine.
