  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

A far-right member of the school board in a Texas town, who has been on a crusade to ban books, was censured on Wednesday night for allegedly lying to gain access to a high school library.

The 5-2 vote to reprimand Karen Lowery came after dozens of residents of Granbury—evenly divided between those who were appalled by her actions and those who defended her—spoke during a five-hour meeting about what’s being called Librarygate.

Hmmm. Entering a school under false pretenses, sneaking around in the dark.

Sounds pretty pedophileish to me.

They already do it at alt right rallies, while chanting "zeig heil."

These people have underdeveloped brains.

Give a bit of cyclical history "the South burning".

It's entirely interesting that she quotes God, saying, "Vengeance is mine." As though that somehow justifies taking matters into her own hands. That's precisely what the quote is saying she shouldn't do.

I guess it makes sense that reading and comprehension aren't her strong suit.

What is the point of an imaginary friend if it doesn't hate what you hate? There is no god there was no Jesus.

The most surprising part is that she didn't burst into flames immediately upon entering a room full of books.

Of course her name is Karen

Are we sure? Maybe that's just an alias she uses to sneak into school libraries to read porn.

WWJD? He'd spend time with the kids talking to them and being a good example in the open. Jesus never skulked that I know of.

Part of the good word talks about buckets of horse cum. Teach the good word!

Can we come up with a new suffix? I'm tired of things ending in hate, I wasn't even alive during that administration.

In fairness, they were caught sneaking around in the dark after illegally entering.

I think it's just ingrained in the public consciousness, now, even beyond the United States. Kinda like how so many things have been called "the Dark Souls of ____".

The only thing that should be banned are fascists
