Have you ever been to the Glastonbury Festival? How did it go? What did you see? What was the weather like? Any adventures?

Twice, 2004 and 2006. The weather was absolute shite in 06 so we hid in the comedy tent and waited for bill bailey. We may also have spent a certain amount of time pretending to be giraffes but most of it was all a blur and I can just about recall getting into Victoria bus station a few days later minus all my stuff. I had my wallet

You go for the bands and get caught up in stuff. It’s a truly great weekend, I’d recommend it to anyone to go a few times

  1. Things I remember...

Stone Roses pulled out a week before and Pulp got moved up to headline. They were great.

The guy from Gene stood on a monitor while singing and it tipped over and he fell headfirst into the crowd. We thought he was dead... He was fine.

It was hot. We camped in the cinema field and fell asleep to movie soundtracks.

I went in 1992 and it was baking hot - managed about a wee a day, which is not wise on the hydration front but, given the state of the toilets by the last day, probably for the best.

My main memory is being solidly off my nut Saturday. Watched the Levellers on the main stage (it was still a pretty hippie/crusty affair as Ozric Tentacles and the RDF were on the bill too) slowly falling into a shallow hole in the ground. Then wandered over to see The Orb, The Shaman and Primal Scream. I had a blast.

Sunday, I remember getting spunked on by a guy on stilts with a three foot phallus before they burnt a giant wicker man. I believe the two incidents were related. I hope so.

Been lucky enough to get tickets for 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2013.

2007 was very wet but generally the weather has always been decent.

Highlights include performances from Arcade Fire, Prodigy, Muse, Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder and of course Bruce Forsyth.

That's an amazing bunch of bands but now I am wondering what Brucie's performance was like.

Brucie was fantastic. Played one of the smaller tents which was packed out. A proper all round entertainer; he sang, he danced, he told stories, told jokes.

Really wholesome experience and I'm glad I got to see him before his death.

That sounds great, a more intimate venue to see an old school entertainer at work.
