Folgers is only drinkable if you doused it with milk and sugar. It is worth it to upscale your beans a bit to something like Peet's or Dunkin Donut and drink it black (you still save money on milk and sugar). Drinking Folgers black might as well drink hot water and caffeine pills

If you don't like green peas then idk what to say
Eh, I disagree green peas are mid and too starchy. It is green vegetable for people who hate veggies. A dish is never improved/ruined by green peas, it is just kinda there to make things green and looks somewhat healthy. In my opinion, instead of green peas you might as well buy actual leafy veggies like broccoli or broccolini, or substitute it with edamame.
The thing about peas is that if you have them when they're in season they're crisp, and flavorful, and heavenly. Rest of the year/frozen/canned? Mealy bland bs.
I usually just like them as a last minute addition to a meal to green it up a bit, so damn you got me. But come on they can be sooo good if used judiciously in a well crafted meal. To completely write them off like the rest of this slop is going too far!

Aside from the caffeine, which my child is too young for, this is basically my child's diet. Realizing that he somehow has the pallet of a midwesterner despite never living there and trying to process this.
It is common in every culture that kids prefer blander foods, so that is okay. It is evolutionary adaptation so that kids don't eat weird stuff at young age when their immune system is not fully developed. Just be sure to introduce your kid to different cuisines and cultures so they know that people with different taste and lifestyle exist. A person's taste bud don't stop developing till way way late, that is why generally only older people can fully develop a taste for different types of whiskeys (they all still taste like spicy firewater to me)
For sure. We have him try a few bites of everything we make around the house and usually have him try at least a bit of something he's never had before at a restaurant when we eat at one. And definitely praise him for being adventurous when he does it. But he's still an all American burger and fries kid haha
Like you say, I'm hoping it's something he'll eventually grow out of. It was easier when he was a toddler and would just eat whatever we put in front of him. I still have a great video of him just shoveling some sauerkraut into his mouth like it's breakfast cereal.
