A community for the fans and critics of the show 30 Rock.

Discussion of the show, pictures from the show and anything else 30 Rock related.

Rules:

  1. All DubVee instance rules apply. See the sidebar at https://dubvee.org. Those are pretty comprehensive, so we don't really need to add much to those.
  2. No politics outside of what's referenced on the show. Let's leave that drama elsewhere since there's plenty of it.
  3. All posts must be 30 Rock related or adjacent. You dummies are awesome, so I don't think I've ever had to mod any posts for this, but codifying it for good measure.
  4. Less a rule and more of a guideline, but please try to provide alt text if your instance + client combination support it. If not, then please try to make an effort to provide a description of any image posts in the post body. Let's be an a11y when we can :)
  5. Don't make fun of people for misusing dated cultural references. Are we all cowabunga on this?
  6. No talking about Krang. It would be a waste of time to talk about Krang on ~~television~~ the internet.

Saw this on /c/dundermifflin@lemm.ee and figured it would be fun to do one for 30 Rock.

Seating Options / Alt Text:

  1. Between Liz and her doppelgänger friend that complains just as much
  2. Next to Frank and a now-empty sun tea jar
  3. Between Hank and Jack
  4. Between Devon Banks and Kenneth
  5. In the back next to Vlem
  6. Next to Tracy and Angie
  7. Between Jenna and Verna (who is flirting with Paul dressed as Jenna)
  8. Next to Colleen and Jonathan
  9. Next to Lutz

I wanted to make one of the options between Grizz and DotCom, but I figured that was too much of an Airplane! joke. Also, the pharmacy was out of the pills that make you see Oprah, so no sleeping through it.

Oh 8, 100%. Watching Colleen completely destroy Jonathan for the entire flight would be fantastic. Plus talking over Jonathan while dishing with Colleen, would make the hours fly by.

#2, I don't have to sit next to anyone, I'm on an isle seat close to the front so I can get the fuck out of there as soon as we land. I wouldn't talk to anyone, I would mind my own business, and would probably be miserable the whole time because of everyone talking.

Maybe try un-subscribing and re-subscribing to see if it starts sending updates? I'm not sure how all this works, but it's cool that it (mostly) does :)

It hasn't been active until somewhat recently. @Blaze@reddthat.com has been doing some heavy lifting as of late. I'm probably due for a re-watch, so I'm hoping to have something to contribute soon.

I have never actually been subscribed. But I subscribed just now, and a few seconds later, yup, my instance now shows all the recent posts there.

Now that I think about it, think I had heard that two instances only federate with one another if someone from one instance subscribes to a community on the other instance. I guess the only user from my tiny instance that was subscribed to a lemm.ee community unsusbscribed five months ago.

Tough choices.

First choice: As close to Paul (dressed as Jenna) as possible. That's a chance to enjoy all of Jenna's country charm, with less than half the neurosis.

It's only fair to leave out Grizz and DotCom. Beside them is clearly the real rational choice. They're the only ones who can mind their own business for 18 hours without sitcom shenanigans ensuing.

Between the listed choices, I would sit next to Jenna, but try to out-flirt Verna, paying as much attention as possible to Paul.

True, true.

I tried to not make any of them obvious choices, and that's also why I left out Twofer. He'd probably just listen to an audiobook the whole flight and leave you in peace. Worst case, he'd bore you to sleep. That, and I couldn't think of anyone to pair him with besides Frank, and I wanted to make the sun tea reference.

I was also gonna do Pete, Paula, and a Pop Tart but that had to be left on the cutting room floor, too 😂
