I mean there is some truth that the SC has pretty much given themselves the authority to decide what constitutes an official act, but at the same time by your own admission the Republicans have a plan to turn the US into a "dictatorship" and the SC is blatantly partisan and sabotaging every aspect of government.
The Civil War is basically already here, so just kill trump and start this shit already while you still control the executive branch.

Have you no respect for that which is most sacred!?

The norms and precedents from slavers!?

If he actually [redacted] Trump (and maybe the Supreme Court as a bonus) he'd win in a landslide. I'd vote for him.

I think it would create such a crisis there would not be elections.

[–] silent_water@hexbear.net 29 points 4 months ago (1 children)

the crisis is here, whatever the political class does. there's no escaping it now.

think of all the time and money we'd save

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 6 points 4 months ago

Sounds good, let's go with that plan

[–] EmoThugInMyPhase@hexbear.net 5 points 4 months ago

If you wait in line, they have to let you vote.

Doesn't even need to be a drone strike since we know how much they hate seeing property destroyed. Send in Seal Team 6 and then they can do the daytime talk show circuit and write tell all books about the weird shit they found in Brett Kavanaugh's house.

Merc the Supreme Court, appoint new guys who will agree it’s an official act

[–] regul@hexbear.net 30 points 4 months ago

Completely legal!

Ok, so test it. Do literally anything to test it.

This has become a Problem of Evil for libs. How do you believe that 1) Trump is a fundamental threat to US democracy, 2)Biden is capable of defending US democracy so you should vote for him and 3) The SC decided to make any official act of the president legal and not come to the conclusion that Biden should do a very funny thing?

[–] casskaydee@hexbear.net 13 points 4 months ago

maybe-later-kiddo That's our secret, sweaty. We don't believe in anything

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 7 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Because they are in denial that Biden didn't care even when he was capable of stringing together more than 3 sentences

You know what's sad is that even if in his cognitive decline he mistakenly orders seal team stupid to visit DNC members instead of Trump, it still couldn't possibly make matters worse.

[–] Assian_Candor@hexbear.net 19 points 4 months ago

orders seal team 6, gets team of six actual seals, is impressed

[–] healthkick@hexbear.net 19 points 4 months ago

They’ll send the seals against anyone who suggests sending the seals against the senatorial class

[–] Elon_Musk@hexbear.net 14 points 4 months ago

I would settle for him sending one pre-selected DNC staffer to gitmo just to prove a point.

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 30 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Just want to say how much I appreciate "my sibling in misery". I really fucking hate "my brother in Christ".

[–] GarbageShoot@hexbear.net 4 points 4 months ago (2 children)

How come, besides the gendering?

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 8 points 4 months ago

Moreso the religiosity. It just grates on me.

[–] AdlachGyfiawn@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 4 months ago

At this point it's been pretty badly overused. It was funny in an ironic kind of way for a bit there

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

whoever sits in that chair can be a fascist free of being annoyed. seeming like they are preparing groundwork to lash out, eesh.
