On two separate occasions last week, I was approached by a stranger who told me I look good. Pretty much nothing is going right in my life so at least vanity is workable as a last stronghold between me and the void.

From the username, I did say it been a while that I hope things get better for

but be to be honest, have someone yo take the time of day to compliment you and not just catcall you is a nice thing and this might sound ridiculous but it also takes courage to do so

I've never been catcalled before but a woman did flash her tits at me once. She yelled "is that your girlfriend?" and I yelled back "yes" and she flashed me. Didn't like that... dunno why someone would do that. Oh well. That relationship is over. She cheated on me after I was faithful for 7 years. It be like that sometimes. Oversharing much? lol. Anyway, I've been trying to find a partner since, but I only ever get approached by gay men. It's flattering of course, but I'm a hetero male (I think) and women never, ever approach me. What's up with that? Surely if gay men find me attractive, women might too, but the responsibility to approach is on me for some god-forsaken reason and I am too afraid to approach anyone. Why does it have to be like this? Rhetorical question of course, the answer is heteronormativity, but you'd think with the prevalence of feminism that this would be less of a factor. I don't know what I'm trying to say, I'm drunk right now. Rant over

I'm gonna be the third guy to tell you that you are hot as fuck. I find it admirable that you talk about your feelings so openly. That's rare for a guy. I think many of your thoughts are well developed as you present them here and relatable. I'd be happy if you dropped me a PM some time, you sound like a great guy to know.

A few things off the top of my head:

  • I made a particularly tasty shakshuka over the weekend.
  • I saw a stoat leading her kits nose to tail, so that they looked like a single, bounding, furry snake as they crossed the track a few days back. I have only seen stoats doing that twice before in my life.
  • in Forge of Empires, which I have recently started playing, my defending PvP army successfully defeated a challenger: the first time that has happened, and it left me feeling ridiculously happy.
  • Albert Finney and Sean Connery' interaction in the 1974 version of Murder on the Orient Express
  • My partner's pleasure at completing a 1940s style knitted top. It has turned out extremely well.

I play casual pickup basketball as my regular exercise and I noticed I shoot better when I go back to my old shooting form. I adjusted it over the past few years because I wanted to follow proper shooting fundamentals, but my shot got worse. I realized after going back to my old shooting form that I just needed to become consistent with it and didn't need to change it. Now I can happily shoot and not have to get banged up trying to get closer to the hoop.

  • Celebrated my birthday with my family and had a great time with everyone
  • I've been trying to program a web version of Phase 10 and I've made a ton of progress. I'm close to finishing it
  • Getting really close to launching an iOS app for my job

Overall, it's been going well. I do have low points (I just found out my calcium levels are normal so I don't know what caused my kidney stones) but there's good if you look for it

Set up a nomad cluster behind traefik. Felt excited for several days after getting it all up. :)

It's really weird how these things are fun to me, but for whatever reason, they are...

I have all my unpleasant tasks on Monday so the rest of the week only gets better :)

To actually answer your question, last week it was chocolate 🍫

My 9 month old daughter is really making great progress in her motor skills and she is super curious about the world, and is laughing and smiling a lot. The mere thought of her brings me an overwhelming amount of joy.

I bet she's adorable. Standing yet?

She's pulling herself up and standing but not without support yet, but holy cow she's really moving. Lol.

I got some new clothes last week for a REALLY good bargain, and I upped my fashion game a bit, I am terrible at fashion. But I realize that if I wear very light shawl type sweaters that drape over me, and wear my summer straw hat and big sunglasses, that men will pull over in their trucks to try to take to me lol. But being a bit better dressed makes me feel better.

Ladies, get you a summer hat. Your hair colour fades much more slowly, and I am 50 and look well under 40 because I'm good to my skin. A doctor I know who has a side practice in doing Botox and fillers and whatall guessed my age as 20 years younger, and this is NOT a person who flatters women. Day cream with SPF and a lovely big hat and sunglasses.

I had a gig and was able to perform an act I wrote back in October
