I see no realistic path to a Second Biden term, first nationaly Biden is super unpopular even in his own party, and Trump is still god king in his party, and second, with the Electoral Collage devaluing votes from populous states who tend to vote more democrat, I will be shocked if he wins. Now everytime I tell a lib this I get yelled at that its too soon to make predictions and Biden beet trump last time and vote blue no matter who. I can understand not wanting Trump to win, what I do not get is sicking your head in the sand and just assuming its a garenteed win

they love to perform this inversion of real power structures by imagining individual voters as gods holding the entire world in their hand, and elected officials as unshiftable entities with no more free will or agency than a tree shedding its leaves for winter. it's like liberal democracy's entire purpose is to obscure the concentration of power, not to distribute it broadly.

I don't think Biden being a pragmatic choice is a settled matter. I haven't seen anything that implies he is a meaningful distinction on things I care about.

Israel? Nope

Student debt? Nope

Abortion? Nope

Unions? Nope

Climate change? Nope

The border? Nope

Homelessness? Nope

War on drugs? Nope

Inflation? Nope

Tax lobbying? Nope

Healthcare? Nope

LGBT protection? Maybe if you squint your eyes

Campaign finance? Nope

Difference between productivity and purchasing power? Nope

Copyright? Nope

Breaking up big business monopolies? Nope

Oh yeah...

And...

WAR????????????????? FUCKING NO

The worst most hawkish fascist military might that has ever existed and continues to constrict the entire planet? Nope

The only difference is whether fascists get radicalized or they get emboldened

Ok, let's flip the script. Republicans have been winning culture war after culture war for the past....50 years. You see real demand for some push back against the GOP and for your supposed values, and you're just wiling to take the risk to lose the election because you think enough concessions will appease the GOP? Biden literally had a golden opportunity to support Palestine and run on Trump being a zionist. Look at the rallies the so-called "normies" aren't all zionists, and anti-war is a historically winning strategy.

From an electoral standpoint, at least republicans found their winning strategy. Democrats are too pig-headed to try anything new, Minnesota dems have been on a roll when they were insecure in whether or not they'd even be around next election. New York democrats are so complacent they're twiddling their thumbs into irrelevance as the GOP gains ground. They're too scared of fitting the "SJW" stereotype perfectly.

Techicaly Minnesota is a merger of 2 (on paper equal, in reality lop sided) parties the Democrats and the Farm & Labor Party, Back in the day Farm and Labor had the state utterly locked, but had no affiliation with a national party, and the Dems had the inverse situation, so the Dems proposed a merger, and now we get to today where the Dems are the party more or less, however I get to credit anything they do that is better for the working class that I would expect from the US to the Farm and Labor half.

We have a lot of fucking liberal ass losers in here. Must be election season.

Liberals have pulled this "You'd better vote for us because the other guy will literally kill you if they win!" thing since the 60s, they've just shifted around the minority group they target with their threats.

Maybe if liberals wanted a coalition with leftists, they'd try to do more than piss on our heads and say it's raining. You wanna vote for genocide Joe, that's your prerogative. But don't come in here and try to guilt me into voting for your boy who's out here running guns to a fascist ethnostate, who has done NOTHING to protect those minority groups, who's still building a wall, who's still raising the military/ICE budgets, and try to act like you're some high and mighty, moralistic motherfucker.

You want blue team to win because you think it's "harm reduction" to wait 10-15 years to implement whatever terrible thing conservatives want to do today.

Don't believe me? How's that border wall thing going?

In the same vein, liberals always seem to forget that it was Biden, not Trump, who outlawed abortion.

[–] Egon@hexbear.net 1 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

It's honestly wild how often I've seen libs bring up protecting abortion rights as an argument to vote FOR Joe Biden The Guy Who Let Roe V Wade Get Overturned

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 1 points 6 months ago

I've been anticipating this since the court decision but it still pisses me off

How can they be so braindead? If Genocide Joe wanted to protect abortion rights he would have

As someone in the demographics liberals say Trump will put in death camps:

Bring it. I've been psychologically prepared for this since the War on Terror made it clear that people like me can never be safe in America. I'm not bothered. You know who is? The fucking white liberals who are afraid Trump will take away the privileges they enjoy that normal people like me never had.

This is all projection on their part. That's why they're so upset when we say we won't be complicit in genocide. They know they can't admit they're worried about themselves because it looks bad, so they try to use us minorities as scapegoats for why they support genocide instead -- but when you peel back all their rhetoric, it's obvious that the White Liberal is too self-absorbed to care about anyone other than themself.

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 1 points 6 months ago

Speaking of the border wall which party did the person belong to who recently actually proposed ending the asylum program.

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 0 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

punish the entire world

The absolute fucking nerve of these freaks accusing anyone else of causing harm as their guy, for whom they are trying to shame us into voting, actively funds a genocide.

[–] aesc@lemmy.sdf.org 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

You don’t think a 2nd Trump administration would fund a genocide? Why? What about Trump says to you, “Oh yeah, this guy would definitely put a stop to the mass-murder of brown people”?

[–] CyborgMarx@hexbear.net 0 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

Would liberals support and back a Trump genocide, unlike the Biden genocide that IS currently happening

[–] frauddogg@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Nah, soon as Trump's in they're gonna hard-pivot and pretend they bled their lily-white hearts out for Palestine the whole time their man was bombing Gaza back into the Stone Age. I remember how they acted about their Drone King the moment the White House was turned over.
