Hi all,

This post is mostly geared towards other mods and admins, but any one else should feel free to comment with ideas or help if they want to.

I've been wondering if anyone is using any bots or other tools to help them moderate or generate content for their communities.

I'm going to be trying this bot to do some fun stuff, maybe posting regular threads, but it's going to require hosting and a bit of coding to do what I want to, so I thought I'd see if anyone know of any other good tools.

Additionally, It might also be nice to have some way of all mods across feddit.uk where we can talk about instance wide topics. Maybe I'm getting ahead of things, but I'd appreciate a mod community or something.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if I've found any mod tools on the platform! I've seen pinned posts, but no idea how to create one.

Happy to hear any and all thoughts!

Thanks for starting this, I had read that the bots and moderation tools were a bit lacking compared to pre-Insurrection Era Reddit but, I imagine, an influx of users will force the development of such tools. As I just started a community on here, this was going to be my next area of research.

Might be one for the main Feddit.uk mods to decide on but it makes sense. Currently I can't even see a more global one on the general instances.

I have a very cheap cloud VM that I barely use, if you'd like to use it for testing I can wipe it and send you the keys.
So long as you don't go over 1TB bandwidth ;)

Cheers, really appreciate the offer! I've got my own little home server that should be enough for what I want for now.

Mod community sounds like a good idea.

Do lemmy communities have a privrate option. Or are you thinking anyone can join we just keep the topics community andmin related.

No set plan at the moment. I can't find a way to create a private one though.

It feels like we need a way for mods to come together and support each other, especially as the instance grows.

I think Tom (the Admin of the instance) if probably going to need a way to speak to us directly at some point?
