Does anyone use cloud pcs with enough capacity to run sd? In particular, with a video card with enough vram. This would be as an alternative to buying a pc.

Yes. I use runpod.io works fine. Costs less than 50ct per hour. They also let you generate images with an API endpoint and you pay the 15 seconds of compute time it takes. Don't even need to set up a conainer if you like the models they offer.

I don't think I'm going to buy a GPU myself.

Edit: There is also vast.ai which is similar. And several providers more which are more expensive.

I haven't, the cost of running something in the cloud that requires a GPU is just not something that is cost effective to an individual in my opinion. For the cost of running a server in the cloud with a GPU for a month, you could buy a decent GPU

Well if you're running it 24/7 yeah... With services like runpod, you are only charged for the storage if the instance isn't running. I think the idle storage cost is $0.20/GB/month.
