Did she try to train the dog at all? I'm getting the strong impression that she just got a fucking dog and expected it to automatically do exactly what she wanted without any training, then violently lost her shit when the animal just did animal things.

It wouldn't be the first person who couldn't (or wouldn't) grasp that animals have their own fucking shit they do, and that you honestly have to accommodate them more than they will even be able to accommodate you.

I have met countless people that think talking to the dog means it understands and when it doesn't do what you say it is just belligerent.

[–] Cysioland@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 4 months ago

tbh there are moments where it's clear that my dog got the command but doesn't feel like executing it, but that's a skill issue on my part for not convincing him that listening to me is poggers

Yes she did.

She mentioned a shock collar at one point iirc, so clearly she's a pro.

[–] Wolfman86@hexbear.net 24 points 4 months ago

A shock collar, I thought you were going to say she did something unreasonable.

I always hate it when Glenn says something reasonable. heartbreaking

we all know that normal-ass phrase, "put them down like a puppy" used by heroic types to describe their great works.

Abu. Bakar. Al-Baghdadi. He died like a dog.

the dog infringed on another’s property rights, an instant death penalty

"Noem said she told the story about Cricket to show that in politics and life, she was willing to do what was “difficult, messy, and ugly” if it was necessary."

Scary AF

Fake news media's twisted spin

Yeah, quoting from your own book that you published, how twisted jokah-messy

Also, I feel like the goat doesn't get enough attention. Like, it's disgusting enough to do that to a puppy, but then for your next thought to be, "and that damn goat is getting got too!" skeleton-guns-akimbo. I just can't imagine

This whole saga is so farcical

[–] DivineChaos100@hexbear.net 23 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Where did Glenn work with thousands of dogs? The Intercept was just a giant shelter?

[–] randomquery@hexbear.net 38 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

I think he with his late husband started a shelter for rescue dogs in Brazil, which employed homeless people: https://www.thedodo.com/close-to-home/glenn-greenwald-shelter-brazil

[–] invalidusernamelol@hexbear.net 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

That's a legitimately good project that they tried, what ever came of it?

[–] randomquery@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

To be honest I haven't really followed it, I check from time to time some of Greenwald's articles and read about the shelter some years back.

Edit: Decided to google a bit, seems like Greenwald posted a video 5 months ago with an update, here if you are interested.

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

I think I remember reading that he and his husband had a bunch of rescue dogs and volunteered with a shelter?

[–] DivineChaos100@hexbear.net 23 points 4 months ago

Okay that's actually based.

[–] Findom_DeLuise@hexbear.net 22 points 4 months ago

When South Dakota sends its puppies, they aren't sending their best. That puppy was a bad hombre.

[–] Cysioland@lemmygrad.ml 21 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Many chuds have a soft spot for dogs, it's like that meme, "I can excuse racism but I draw a line at animal cruelty"

[–] porcupine@lemmygrad.ml 15 points 4 months ago (1 children)

They have a soft spot for property, for pets. Let’s not pretend that it extends to animal welfare generally.

[–] Cysioland@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 4 months ago

That's why I said "dogs" specifically.

[–] Pandantic@midwest.social 15 points 4 months ago

If it was as bad as she said, why didn’t she write that in her book where she literally had all the room to give details?

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 11 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

we are at a point where they literally shoot puppies in the face and fascists still love her.

takes massive creative force to parody this world rn. they will be literally punching babies next.

[–] nocturnedragonite@lemmygrad.ml 9 points 4 months ago

I mean they love abusing children so they probably aren't that far off from it
