Can't sleep. One of those night where you can't stop thinking.

Meanwhile:

I burnt my fingers last night which prompted me to yell some very very bad words followed by DO NOT COME INTO THE KITCHEN. WE ARE NOT EATING TONIGHT and I'm not even a yeller.

They're still red today but atleast the swelling has gone down and nothing beer o clock can't fix.

I tried to put the harness on Ted.

I survived without being mauled but it was close. The harness is not on him.

Eldest minipeeler accidentally kicked Miniest full in the face while sparring last night. He was mortified and ran to his room upset; she thought he was going for a high kick and basically ducked straight into it. She's ok after a little blood nose but I keep telling them to knock it off, "starts in laughter ends in tears" kind of thing, someone will get hurt, not enough room in a small crowded living room etc. I'm only their mother, what do I knowβ€½ My siblings were from my parents previous marriages and almost adults by the time I was born, so I'm not used to the mucking around casual violence of children growing up together, and sometimes feel emotionally ill-equipt to parent it

weeee, 2 weeks of break finally.

Also finally figured out a few things with my car, Somehow I ended up with a leak thanks to a plastic bag being stuck in my back boot and water seeped in via that and made a giant pool where my spare type compartment was.

Discovered it while I was at work and furiously got some containers to scoop as much of the water out.

When I got home I paper toweled and dried everything as much as possible and lifted the compartment panel which will hopefully air dry what little is left but finally now I can rest easy know where that mysterious slushing sound of water was coming from whenever I stopped at a set of traffic lights.

Ok, I'm tired now and need food!

Love rainy mornings that clear up before lunch. Something very refreshing about it.

Just waiting for my neighbour to start watering his lawn now.......

[–] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 5 points 6 months ago (1 children)

My back yard is pretty close to the EPA declaring it a natural wetland. Couldnt even imagine watering it.

Had to keep it real with a Vietnamese teenage boy and inform him that Koalas are not naturally cuddly and in fact can be quite vicious and scratch you. Only Koalas kept in captivity will tolerate at best human contact.

Just saw yet another accident. Ute got inpatient waiting behind a truck going straight so tried to drive down the wrong side of the road to get to the right turn lane and clipped the side of the truck. Low speed, so minor and no injuries, but it did jumpscare me lol. Then he nearly reversed into us.

I've seriously seen more car crashes in the last 6 months than I have in my entire 16.5 years of existence before the last 6 months

I decided to venture back to IKEA just for the funnies. Apparently if you become family with the IKEA you get 50% off the restaurant on Fridays, so they taught me how to do that. Then I saw they give you discounts on containers so I was like I may as well buy one while I'm here. Then when I was checking out a couple of IKEA people came up to me and asked if I scanned the container.

So uhh, TIL (the hard way) at IKEA you need to scan and pay for containers and their lids. The lids do not come with the containers

Ok so I was going to do classic movie + pizza night tonight but I'm really not feeling very hungry. I haven't really eaten much today either. I did have a plate of Sweden meatballs from IKEA (pretty sure it would have been illegal not to), but that's really all I've eaten today. And watching the godfather without pizza just doesn't feel right.

I might just watch more prisoner. I'm about half way through the 600 episodes

Like old school Prisoner? Vinegar Tits and The Freak?

Sick today. Can barely get out of bed.

I won't be working out when I'm still recovering from DOMS in the future.

Kind of actually very grateful now that I didn't start my new job today. I have ended up with a mountain of admin! Got accepted to my course but there was a whole bunch of calling and form-filling that followed due to unique circumstances. That took a few hours. And I got my latest power bills which FINALLY prodded me to do the annual switch (several months overdue - could've been saving $50 a month! - but better late than never). Plus I'm waiting on the pre purchase inspection results for the car, any minute now I should be getting a phone call and email to go through the options, then I need to enter negotiations (urgh).

A friend wants me to go help them with some measurements and shit around 4:30pm today, that'll get me out of the house which is great.

Meanwhile, the shit is starting to go down again in the Middle East. Maybe this is a bad time to be buying an ICE car, but at least this one has relatively low fuel consumption...

I've been road testing Aldi's organic black tea because Choice declared it the best tea and I don't know how it came to that conclusion. I'm not good at describing liquids but I'll give it a go anyway.

There's a distinct taste of floral. It wasn't overly strong. Definite dry aftertaste on the palate. To me it lacked a base taste. Like if tea was 3D then this would be 2D. It tasted flat.

It would be good as a Billy tea because it had a bushy earthy taste. Bushells, Tetley, Twinings all taste better imo. Anyway it wasn't bad, I'll keep drinking it but I wouldn't buy it again. 3.5 / 5 yum yums.

Decided to play Fallout 4 again, and made the female player character as Marilyn Monroe as I could. The husband I made James Dean but he died early (too soon?) so no harm lol.

So I went to kmart to buy a dog harness and lead for ted cat because the cat ones are too small. This way I hope to let him have some outside time without running away.

I haven't attempted to put it on him yet. 😬 Photos coming soon.

This is the earliest night I've had in a few weeks. Enjoy your evening everyone ❀️

took 4.5 hrs back from the bellarine.

Everything went wrong.. time for wine.

The funniest was at the 48 stop outside southern x and the arrival kept ticking from 3mins, to 2, back to 3, then 1 for a solid 15 mins. Then it arrives with no one on it. Sort of like the movie ghost ship.

PSA: this is not medicare, if you get this message just ignore and delete. I get quite a few spam/scam texts, but I figured I'd put this here because this one is impersonating medicare.

Remember, they wouldn't send you a link to click, and always read the URL. It's always going to be something that's dodgy.

Very enjoying Baby Reindeer on Netflix. It is quite strange, and very good imo. TL:dr: Failing comedian leads on a stalker, even after knowing she's a stalker. Shit gets weird. Themes are quite dark, and include rape and sexual assault. Only 4 EPs in but would recommend
