Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

“My team will get to the bottom of how this clandestine network of clinics has subjected children to puberty blockers and irreversible surgery, often without parental consent,” he wrote in a statement. “There is no more important fight than to ensure Missouri is the safest state in the nation for children. No stone will be left unturned in these investigations.”

I live in Missouri and I'm just posting to remind y'all my last Democratic Senator, Claire McCaskill blamed Democrats "caring too much" about trans rights for the party not winning enough seats in Congress in 2020 and the Democratic Senate candidate after that didn't even mention queer people on her website until a few weeks before the election. it's so rough here unless you're cishet.

Andrew Bailey also is famous in this state for suing every school that tried to protect kids from covid.

No no, don't you understand, if we don't vote for Biden, trans lives will be in danger!

I know you're doing a bit but it's so funny that everyone who's said that to me IRL is a cis het person. The thing is, it wouldn't even matter if I did vote Biden bc our state party is an absolute joke. The DSA chapter I used to co-chair was bigger than the local democrats were and we weren't a very big chapter to begin with.

It would be a real shame if someone brought a vigorous second amendment defense in court

There can only be one Bailey, and it's Comrade Bailey.

This fucker has to go. I'll get the woodchipper fired up.

HIPAA? It’s more of a suggestion, apparently

I guess when Roe v Wade was overturned, a lot of medical privacy got lost. I don't know the specifics that's just what internet lawyers told me.

HIPAA basically has more to do with how medical providers, insurance, etc. handles your medical information.

Oh, I remember hearing about that from Erin on TikTok. God, shit sucks.

All legal protections you have are suggestions that can be thrown out at any time, even your “constitutional rights”. They don’t have to overturn anything, all the courts have to do is come up with some bullshit interpretation about how it doesn’t apply to you.

Wish we lived in the conservative reality where trans people are running the government and hunting conservatives for sport.

Instead, we have to deal with them having all the institutional power to attempt queer extermination while they claim they're the ones being persecuted.

When our time comes...
