I'm guessing you're American.

It's ok that you have a misunderstanding about how different nationalities interact with eachother in Europe

The whole of western Europe has this level of sarcasm that an American brain can't even fathom, and a love for their fellow Europeans that you definitely can

We will absolutely rip the piss out of eachother, and pretend we hate the very sight of eachother, then upon meeting a person of a different nationality, spend the entire night drinking and laughing and taking the piss, and the next day comparing national hangover foods

Americans read sarcasm as aggressive because they are, Europeans read sarcasm as a joke because they are 😂
