Wasn't it like... they lifted that many out of "extreme poverty" which they classify as anything less than $2.30/day?

I mean, cool, cool. But also, you're not in poverty in China if you make $3/day, huh?

The Poverty Elimination Campaign required all citizens to have adequate food, clothing, shelter, water, electricity, and ability to access education. So, no, it wasnโ€™t just that. They built many homes for people, provided them subsidized food supplies, power stations to provide power to extremely rural areas, and more.
