I really don't understand who likes that kind of design, besides Wall-E. But I'm not going to kink shame, so good on them.

I've never been inside one, but maybe the extended spaces make for interesting and dynamic rooms? If there is a benefit to the design, it's not external lol, More like something I would do in Minecraft when I forgot to add space for a staircase
