Political Correctness > Woke > CRT > DEI > ??

Sooner or later somebody's going to have to admit that they're just never going to be happy.

Forgot SJWs. Remember when we were Social Justice Warriors? That was funny.

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 14 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Oh, good call. I prefer to be a Social Justice Paladin, myself.

Could I be a Social Justice Bard instead? Or maybe a Social Justice Warlock...

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

The party does need some ranged support, so I'd go Warlock. I recommend George Soros as a patron.

Beginner strats. I spec'd into Social Justice Necromancer, don't ever ask me what happened to Thatcher's corpse.

How many iterations will it take for them to just say what they're really against: policies that promote empathy and compassion for people who are different

Not unless they can own slaves again.

[–] BallsandBayonets@lemmy.world 14 points 5 months ago (1 children)

That's the ironic part. Even if we went back to 1800 the vast majority of these angry people wouldn't be slave owners because they wouldn't be able to afford it. They'd actually be far more likely to be debt-slaves than own any people themselves. The era they actually want to go back to is an idealized version of the 1950s, when you couldn't own people but you could call them slurs in public, they had separate drinking fountains, and they lived far away from you. Plus you could hit your wife if dinner didn't taste perfect, physical and mental abuse was how kids were raised (when you saw them at all), and one income could raise a family.

Sad how those last six words are the only thing we could agree on and should actually get back to, but it's cheaper for the owner class to stoke hate.

Also you could either shame/harass LGBTQ people into suicide or just casually murder them yourself. And if you had a baby with obvious disabilities, they would be whisked away to an asylum for life and you'd never have to think about them again. Ah, the good old days!

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 4 points 5 months ago

Well, not until the people that aren't exactly like them are doing worse. In fact everyone has to do worse than them

Somehow, that evolution accurately captures the cultural progress we've made toward racial equality.

That's a rather diplomatic way to call a bunch racists racist.
