A dance card or programme du bal (also known by its German-language name, Tanzkarte) is used by a woman to record the names of the men with whom she intends to dance each successive dance at a formal ball.

When dancing with a male partner is too scandalous for modern conservatives.
If only we’d gotten a master and commander franchise. The genuinely healthy and affectionate male friendship in the books could have detoxified the culture a bit /mostly a joke….mostly
