I'm curious if this movie has aged well. I haven't seen it since it was first popular.

I still love it, but I haven't bought it since it came out on DVD. There hasn't been a definitive Blu-ray release, with each version coming with pros and cons. I'm hoping this new 4K will sort all that out.

What kind of issues have there been?

I think different versions have slightly different framing. Probably something I wouldn't even notice to be honest.

It's a choice of US Vs UK Vs Germany for us Brits.

I have found myself buying more German home video - they seem to have a thriving market there and often get titles out before anyone else.

Germany has been very useful. When I wanted to complete my Bill & Ted collection before Face the Music was released, I bought Bill & Ted's verrückte Reise in die Zukunft (Go to hell)from Germany as there was no UK version.

Also, HMV had the exclusive to sell Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. It's long gone and eBay copies are pricey. Got it from Germany, £8 and it's the same disc for all of Europe.

When I was on my Kevin Smith binge, I had to get Jersey Girl from Spain, the only Euro release.

It has aged fine. I watched it again last year. The sound track defined my music taste of my late teens. Burn is the only Cure song I like, but it sends electricity down my spine still. Dead Souls lead me into NiN which is I stayed with for decades.

Watching it again, all this time later, was different as I saw the tragedy of the brutal murder of the young couple as a parent. It being a son / daughter just having settled down after finding love.
