My mum was born in Dundee. When she went to work on the switchboard at the gas company as a teenager, the very first thing they did was send her to an elocution class to get rid of the Dundee accent ๐
To her dying day, she still answered the phone like Hyacinth Bucket
I once answered the phone when "Granny" rang, scared the life out of me.
