Succession of any major state is an existential threat to US hegemony - both in terms of dollar and military supremacy. Capital (certainly finance capital) will absolutely not allow it, though I think you’d be more likely to see Texas get the Cuba treatment than any actual military operation.
Well, the only way we'll know is through the eating of the pudding...
For all I know, the Dems and Rep won't even try and in fact, they'll try to re-ally with the Post-republican rightist and Trumpist states just to keep their hegemony
