If only speaking from personal experience, many games nowadays have an almost implicit requirement to search up a "before I play" guide or a "beginner recommendations". If nothing else, many people want to Google "missables", to ensure that they can fully experience a game.

What is your recommended game that requires nothing but the player to be in the moment and enjoy the experience?

Nier Automata.

Now having said that. If you want to watch someone else experience the game, that's fine too. The game is so impactful imo that I ugly cried at the end regardless.
