If only speaking from personal experience, many games nowadays have an almost implicit requirement to search up a "before I play" guide or a "beginner recommendations". If nothing else, many people want to Google "missables", to ensure that they can fully experience a game.

What is your recommended game that requires nothing but the player to be in the moment and enjoy the experience?

Her Story.

My wife and I played through it, and loved it. I wish I could go back and play it again for the first time. Wasn't a fan of the sequel though, unfortunately.
