If only speaking from personal experience, many games nowadays have an almost implicit requirement to search up a "before I play" guide or a "beginner recommendations". If nothing else, many people want to Google "missables", to ensure that they can fully experience a game.

What is your recommended game that requires nothing but the player to be in the moment and enjoy the experience?

Doki doki literature club. I told a friend about this and warned him not to look up anything about the game. The freak out he had in the discord chat was totally worth it.
