games that release that in a condition where you could have good graphics or good performance - but not both.
are literally checkboxes in the settings for this.
and of course all the screenshots that they advertise the game in question with is going to come from the good graphics with the low performance setting.
side note: Game companies need to stop advertising using screenshots and videos from the best graphical edition of their game --usually a PC or Xbox X version --on machines that couldn't possibly match that graphical power --that's usually the switch although I have seen people talking about the same thing happening in mobile games as well when there's a mobile version of a console/PC game.
this kind of thing is straight up fraud in my opinion.
