What is a rug anyway? It seems like every pixel has some sort of weird “don’t worry about it” QC issue.

It has: the pixel owners. It's a beta tester program.

This is why I tend to like the "a" models more. They are usually the phones from the previous year with some of the personality ironed out.

At least they were the last time I bought one, but that was a 4a, and I have literally not found a reason to upgrade it to anything since then. I will use it until it dies.
