Im not much of a gamer (ironically I make games for a living) but I made a bet with my kids that if the Detroit Lions make the playoffs this year I'll buy them a system, and its looking like almost a lock to happen, so I want to get in on some Holiday deals.

This is their first non-Nintendo system so I'm a little lost on which way to go at this point in the generation cycle. For reference they're 7 and 9 year old boys and are gonna be new to gaming that isnt based around crafting or Italian brothers. (i made them use my old NES, then SNES first, then got them a Switch a couple years back)

For that age I don't feel the consol mather really. Do there friend games? If that case maybe buy same consol as they have. Do you know what they want? I would say maybe discuss with them about friends consol, what they want and so on.

Otherwise I would say xbox is good with the gamepass if you wana pay for that. So many games and the kids can try and error alot pretty much. Thats what my kids done from time to time.

I personal don't like the playstation more one the adult side in one way on the games. But ofc there is kidsgame on that.

Then just thinking if you want them to be able to buy there own games in store, in that case get a xbox with cd, well same on playstation now to.

I have both consols and my kids preffer the xbox because gamepass but we have playstation for the exklusive really. Never had any bigger problem with any consolbrand. They work as intended even with kids handling them. We play nintendo for there games and familygames really.
