i’ll never forgive this one

This was the one I was looking for apparently they are bringing it back considering it was a finished game apparently.

This one hurt like a bitch.

I’m still super sad about this. It’s the kind of dragon game I feel was the one everyone wished for. But it was taken from us before we could witness it. Sad

Allegedly got tanked by Microsoft's incessant directing towards microtransactions and multiplier.

No it got tanked by Platinum missing every milestone set for them.

They accepted making a multiplayer game, and they took responsibility years later after MSFT took the heat.

Did we ever find out a reason why?

incompetence from Xbox and Platinum.

Xbox wanted Unreal, Platinum didn’t know the engine. Platinum allegedly failed to meet expectations and were always behind. A rumour surfaced that they instead started to focus on another project (can’t remember the game). Deal was cut.

Xbox was unhelpful in a time they sucked.

Didn’t they start using funds for Scalebound on another title they wanted to work on in secret? When MS found out it was one of the nails in the coffin.

Platinum Games just couldn't do it at the time, it was more ambitious than they thought.

Scale, it was just too big of a game for platinum to complete. But I love platinum games, I wish they could have found a way to outsource the asset development and keep game design inhouse. I really like their design team.
